Gero Saichoraku Honkan has a Japanese-style room with a large window from which you can see the townscape of Gero Onsen. The view from the open-air bath is especially great! You can eat whatever you like from Buffet, but you can also eat Japanese wagyu steak, seafood such as spiny lobster, and snow crab in the winter for an additional fee! This is Ryokan (Japanese inn) located in Tamatsukuri Onsen, south of Lake Shinji. Women can choose a flower yukata at the flower yukata corner in the lobby. There is also a beautiful indoor bath made of black granite, an open-air bath, and a large bath made entirely of cypress, even to the bottom of the tub. Dinner was kaiseki（a traditional Japanese multiple course meal ）using luxurious ingredients such as Shimane Wagyu beef, Oki Matsuba crab, blackthroat seaperch, and white squid. For breakfast, we had a Buffet style meal of a wide variety of dishes, including the inn's original pancakes served with brown sugar syrup.

Located in Naruko Onsen in Miyagi Prefecture, this hot spring inn is the perfect place for a family trip. I would like to recommend Suimeikan. Dinner was not Buffet, but a Japanese-Western fusion banquet using fresh ingredients from Tobida, but there was a lot of food on the menu and I was full. Breakfast was a Japanese-Western Buffet, and the menu was also rich. There are several baths, but the large observation bath was impressive as it offered a night view of the city of Gero.

This hotel has several restaurants to choose from, but if you have big appetites, we recommend the buffet for both breakfast and dinner. There are many different menus for breakfast and dinner, so you'll never get bored. The freshly baked omelette in the morning is creamy and recommended. The open-air bath in the large communal bath is designed in the style of a Japanese garden, with a rock tub. It was very tasteful and I was able to relax while watching the natural beauty. There are also plenty of facilities, such as a putting green and a table tennis corner, so it was a place where you could enjoy yourself to the fullest.

For dinner, there is a wide variety of menu items, and you can eat as much freshly cooked food as you like at Buffet with a live kitchen that also has a wide selection of desserts. Children will also be happy. The hot spring has an open-air bath that is as large as a famous Senjojiki, so the whole family can enjoy Naruko no Yu.

The hotel has the largest public bath in Tamatsukuri Onsen. The large rock-built indoor bath and open-air bath are made of cypress, so you can stretch your arms and legs out and relax. It was also nice that there were two types of dry sauna, one high and one low. After the bath, we had some rosy seabass, Tottori wagyu beef, and large clams from Lake Shinji. Breakfast was buffet style and we could try a variety of local dishes.

If you are going to Kusatsu Onsen in Gunma Prefecture on a family trip with many men who eat a lot, we recommend this inn. The location, right in front of the Yubatake hot springs of Kusatsu Onsen, is a big plus, but the food is also satisfying. For dinner, you can choose between a buffet or a dinner course, and breakfast is Buffet. For both dinner and breakfast, you can enjoy plenty of meals made with ingredients from Gunma Prefecture.

Before COVID-19, you could have a Japanese Kaiseki meal in your room or in a private dining room, or there was a Japanese and Western buffet. This buffet had over 40 kinds of original Japanese and Western dishes, and soft drinks were all-you-can-drink. Also, for those who like alcohol, you could add 1,580 yen on the spot to get all-you-can-drink alcohol. In the morning, we had a delicious Japanese and Western Buffet and ate to our heart's content. There are two large public baths and two open-air baths for hot springs, which currently draw from the precious Shirohata and Bandaiko springs.

We had a wonderful view of the mountains from our Japanese-style room. open-air bath with the trees in front of you gave us the feeling of forest bathing, which was great. As it is part of the Oedo hot spring group, the buffet was very substantial. There was a wide variety of Japanese, Western, Chinese and sweets on the menu. The tempura was freshly fried in the live kitchen, and the steaks were also freshly grilled, which was very satisfying. Being able to choose the color of the yukata was also a nice service. There are also playful elements to this inn, so it's a fun place to stay.
