  • An inn where you can enjoy the unique atmosphere of Kurokawa

  • This inn is a long-established establishment that has been in business since the end of the Edo period, and it is a quaint inn that gives you a sense of history and allows you to experience the essence of Kurokawa Onsen. The large public bath was also tasteful, and I was able to relax in it. The indoor and outdoor baths were so beautiful that I didn't want to leave. The room was relaxing, and the view of the trees from the window was wonderful. The food was steamed in a bamboo steamer using local meat and vegetables, and had an elegant taste. The other dishes also used plenty of local vegetables, and were very satisfying. The staff were very considerate, and it was a comfortable inn.

  • A homely atmosphere that makes you feel like you're back home

  • Enjoy delicious Kumamoto cuisine in a private room

  • I recommend "Okyakuya." It's a lovely inn with a nostalgic, cozy hot spring where you can enjoy the atmosphere of a Japanese Ryokan (Japanese inn) with all Japanese-style rooms. After enjoying the indoor bath and the open-air bath with a bathhouse feel, we feasted on delicious Kumamoto cuisine. Although it wasn't a room, we were able to dine leisurely in a private room without worrying about the people around us. In particular, the steamed "Kumamoto Akagyu" and "Ajisaigyu" beef with vegetables was healthy and delicious. It was a meal plan that allowed us to enjoy a wide variety of dishes with a focus on locally produced ingredients.

  • This is a long-established hot spring inn with abundant water 100% natural hot spring

  • This inn has the feel of a traditional Japanese Ryokan (Japanese inn), and the gentle atmosphere will soothe your day to day fatigue. The open-air bath and indoor bath, reminiscent of old-time bathhouses, offer a different kind of pleasure than touring soto-yu (public bathhouses). The corner room along the Tanohara River is particularly comfortable, with a special view of the scenery and the sound of the babbling river, so if there is a vacancy, please try staying there with your married couple ♪

  • The inn itself, founded at the end of the Edo period, is perfect instagrammable.

  • This inn is one of the oldest in the Kurokawa Onsen hot springs, and you can feel the good old atmosphere and charm from the moment you step inside. It is a lovely, cozy hot spring inn with a nostalgic feel to it. The refreshing feeling that can only be enjoyed at an inn located along the river, and the rooms surrounded by greenery are very comfortable. In particular, the corner rooms along the river are perfect for soaking in the scenery and atmosphere. Soaking in the hot springs while enjoying the atmosphere of an old-fashioned "bathhouse" is also exceptional and highly recommended♪

  • This is a long-established Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Kurokawa Onsen.

  • Founded in the Edo period, this hot spring inn boasts a history of nearly 300 years. The rooms are pure Japanese-style and have a certain charm. There are about six baths, all of which are natural hot springs. To tour soto-yu (public bathhouses) a common bath pass for all Kurokawa Onsen is sold, which allows you to use all three soto-yu (public bathhouses). The passes are sold at each Ryokan (Japanese inn).

  • Relax and unwind at a historic inn

  • The most historical inn in the Kurokawa Onsen group and one of our recommendations is "Rekishi no Yado Onkyakuya." The selling point of this inn is its comfortable, homely atmosphere. The calming wooden structure and the right amount of hospitality that is not too excessive, and above all, the comfort of the sulfate spring that makes your skin smooth are exceptional. This is a recommended inn with hot springs, including the voluminous and delicious local cuisine.

  • Enjoy horse sashimi at a historic inn

  • At this inn, you can enjoy Kumamoto's specialty, horse sashimi. As this is the oldest inn in Kurokawa Onsen, why not enjoy horse sashimi cuisine while feeling the atmosphere? Horse sashimi is healthy and gentle on the body, so it seems like it will help you reset your daily fatigue.

  • Great value for money and the hot springs were fantastic

  • Kurokawa Onsen has become very poor value for money since it became famous, but this inn was good. The room was calm and clean, and the staff was very considerate. The hot spring was cloudy, and there were reclining Lying-down bath and standing baths, and all the baths were great. The hot spring was good, but the food was especially amazing! Both breakfast and dinner were good in taste, quality, and quantity.
