A purely Japanese style that evokes the atmosphere of good old Japan.
"Asunaro" is a Japanese-style inn in Hida Takayama Onsen, which was relocated and restored from the mansion of a wealthy farmer from Echigo. Although it is in the city, it is a hidden gem where you can relax in peace and tranquility. There are only a few rooms, so it is also recommended for spending the New Year holidays relaxing. The inn is also proud of its seasonal cuisine, which uses plenty of local ingredients from Gifu Prefecture, including Hida beef, and from December to January you can enjoy the flavors unique to winter.

An old-style inn in Takayama, Hida. A hidden gem of an inn that you don't want to know about.
Located near the popular old town, this is a hidden gem of an inn with a great Takayama atmosphere. It is an inn in the style of an old-fashioned house in Hida Takayama, and there is none of the hustle and bustle of a grand hotel. The friendly landlady and staff were very welcoming, and I was able to spend a very pleasant time here. There is also a natural hot spring. The food was delicious, and I was happy to have a wide selection.
