  • A remote inn deep in the mountains

  • How about Aoni Onsen in Aomori Prefecture? It is located a short distance from the roadside station "Niji no Lake." It is a independent guest cottages mountain village, with only farms and a few fields within a 2km radius. Various trees around the inn are changing color in autumn. You can see the natural scenery. Although it is a small, rustic inn, there are four baths, so you can Visiting hot springs in every spot.

  • The illuminated Nakano Momijiyama is beautiful

  • The autumn leaves at Nakano Momijiyama are beautiful during the day, but the lighting in the evenings is artistically beautiful. Many people go there after having dinner at their inn. This inn is close to Nakano Momijiyama, so it's easy to get there, and you can enjoy the autumn leaves from the inn. The open-air bath was also very open, and we had a blissful time. The room was a simple Japanese-style room, but it was very clean. We ate around Japanese hearth, eating wild vegetables and river fish, which were simple and delicious, and you can't get that way in the city.

  • A secluded inn where you'll want to do nothing but relax

  • This is a lodging house located in the middle of nature that feels like a truly unexplored area. There is no electricity, so we spent the evenings by lamplight. There is also no television, so the only sounds are people talking and the background music of nature. It was a wonderful environment where I could free my mind. The view from Mixed-Gender Hot Springs outdoor bath is Breathtaking view. You can see outside from the indoor bath, so it felt like an open-air bath. The food was served in the large hall, and included Japanese meals made with river fish caught nearby, wild plants, and local vegetables. It was simple country food, but the ingredients were good so it was extremely delicious. I was soothed by the warm, nostalgic flavors. It was a wonderful inn that I felt it would be a shame to stay just one night.
