If you are considering Sakurai, Toshima, or Yoshino, it would be convenient to stay at the Kintetsu Yamato-Yagi or Kashihara-Jingu-mae stations. Kashihara Royal Hotel is located near Kashihara-Jingu-mae station. It is part of the Daiwa Royal Hotels group, and I think it is one of the better hotels I have stayed at. There is a hot spring bath in the basement, so you can soothe your travel fatigue with a bath. It seems that many people going to Asuka use rental bicycles. You can rent one in front of the station.
