Could you please tell me a convenient Ryokan (Japanese inn) for touring the ancient city of Nara? I don't have any particular requirements.

Comfort Hotel Nara

Sanjo-cho 321-3

  • Close to JR Nara Station!

  • It's close to JR Nara Station, and you can walk to Kintetsu Nara Station while enjoying a stroll around town. Since it's a chain hotel, there are no hits or misses, and the service is well-balanced. Breakfast is included, and there is a convenience store nearby, so you can stay comfortably. There are many foreign guests, so it feels a bit out of the ordinary, and it's good for a little escape from reality (lol).

Super Hotel Premier JR Nara Eki Asuka no Yu

1-2 Sanjo Honmachi, Nara-shi

  • An inn where you can enjoy natural hot springs

  • How about the Natural Hot Spring Super Hotel Lohas JR Nara Station, which is conveniently located in front of JR Nara Station and where you can enjoy natural hot springs? Since it's close to the station, it's convenient for going sightseeing anywhere. The breakfast is also pretty good. Why not consider it as one of your options?

Nara Hotel

1096 Takabatakecho

  • It is a historic and elegant hotel.

  • Located next to Nara Park, Kofuku-ji Temple, and Kasuga Taisha Shrine, this hotel is very convenient for exploring Nara. Nara Hotel has a 100-year history dating back to the Meiji era, and is a prestigious hotel that has hosted foreign dignitaries and members of the imperial family. The specialty Yamato tea porridge breakfast was healthy and very delicious.

Asukasou Hotel

1113-3,Takabatake-cho

  • If you're staying in Nara, this is the place to stay!

  • Ryokan (Japanese inn) is located very close to the station. Please relax in the tatami room. You may hear the sound of a bell. You can see the five-story pagoda from the bath. You can explore the scenic ancient capital to your heart's content, including Todaiji Temple, Kasuga Taisha Shrine, and Mount Wakakusa. There are many other things to see, including the former residence of Taikichi Irie.

Hotel Nikko Nara

8-1,Sanjo-Hommachi

  • Directly connected to the station

  • It is directly connected to JR Nara Station, so it is very accessible and the service is good, so I recommend it. Nara is not as easy to find as a tourist destination as Kyoto, so accommodation options are somewhat limited. Please make new discoveries in the back alleys.

Kasuga Hotel

40 Noboriohji-cho

  • I feel a typical Nara atmosphere.

  • We recommend the Kasuga Hotel, which is adjacent to Kofuku-ji Temple. In the evening, you can enjoy a soak in the open-air bath while looking at the lush garden and hear the sound of the bells of Kofuku-ji Temple. In this way, you can experience the atmosphere of Nara and the quiet flow of time with all your senses. In addition to Kofuku-ji Temple, you can also walk to Todai-ji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine, making it convenient for sightseeing in Nara.

Toyoko Inn Kintetsu Nara Ekimae

Mikadomachi 16-1

  • It is a reasonably priced accommodation.

  • The nearest station is next to Kintetsu Nara Station. JR Nara Station is also nearby, so it is a convenient location. It is perfect for sightseeing in Nara city. It is a simple business hotel, but due to the location, many tourists stay there. Breakfast is provided, but please eat dinner outside.

Tenpyo Ryokan

9 Higashimukinakamachi

  • Shopping street in front of the station

  • This inn is located in the shopping arcade in front of Kintetsu Nara Station. There are bicycle rentals in front of the station, which makes it very convenient for sightseeing. There are separate baths for men and women, so you can relax and unwind after a long day of sightseeing. Even if dinner is not included, there are plenty of restaurants nearby, so you won't have any trouble. The tea porridge for breakfast may be a matter of personal preference, but it does make for a good conversation piece.

Nara Park Hotel

4-18-1 Horai

  • A hotel where you can experience the ancient capital

  • The Japanese-style rooms are very spacious, making efficient use of space. The unique exterior and interior are reminiscent of the ancient capital, and the staff's uniforms make this a special inn. Not only can you enjoy the atmosphere of the ancient capital in a relaxing room, but you can also soothe your travel fatigue in the hot springs. It is also conveniently located, just 15 minutes by taxi from Nara Station.

Nishikyo-ku Arashiyama Nakaoshitacho 57

  • It's a 5-minute walk from Arashiyama Station, so it's easy to go sightseeing.

  • You can do sightseeing around Arashiyama, and it is recommended because it has good access to old historical cities and shrines. The hot spring is free-flowing and the water is of good quality, and you can relax in Japanese and Western room. The breakfast plan includes easy-to-eat Kyoto-style vegetable-rich obanzai.

Grand Mercure Nara Kashihara

652-2 Kume cho Kashihara

  • We recommend staying in Kashihara, the "navel" of the ancient capital.

  • Since you are touring the ancient capitals, it seems that you will also be going to places other than Nara City. If you are considering Sakurai, Toshima, or Yoshino, it would be convenient to stay at the Kintetsu Yamato-Yagi or Kashihara-Jingu-mae stations. Kashihara Royal Hotel is located near Kashihara-Jingu-mae station. It is part of the Daiwa Royal Hotels group, and I think it is one of the better hotels I have stayed at. There is a hot spring bath in the basement, so you can soothe your travel fatigue with a bath. It seems that many people going to Asuka use rental bicycles. You can rent one in front of the station.
