My sister and I are planning a trip to Japan and want to visit Hakone Onsen, which is super close to Tokyo. We're really hoping to find a hot spring with water that's great for the skin. Not only can you enjoy the large public baths (which include an open-air bath and a sauna!), but there are also private open-air baths with incredible views that you can reserve. If you stay in a room with a private open-air bath, you can enjoy a relaxing soak anytime you like! The rooms are traditional Japanese-style with tatami mats, but if you're not a fan of sleeping on a futon, they also have rooms with two single beds. There's a free shuttle bus from the nearest Hakone-Yumoto Station, but it's also a pleasant 15-minute walk.
