This hot spring inn faces the Kinugawa Valley. The open-air bath along the Kinugawa River has a nice view, and when it's quiet you can hear the murmuring of the river. The rooms are pure Japanese-style rooms with a good view of the hot spring town. The rooms are 8 tatami mat Japanese-style rooms with a wide veranda.

The "Floating Garden Open-Air Bath" on the 13th floor of Shuhokan is the highest in Kinugawa. The outside air hits your body just right, and the sky you can see from Lying-down bath is a starry sky. There is a boat bath, Lying-down bath, and a standing bath. There are also two other large baths, one for men and one for women, each with a jacuzzi bath and a dry sauna. There is also a nano-mist sauna for women. There is also a shampoo bar in the bath, so women will especially appreciate being able to use their favorite shampoo and conditioner. The meals are very luxurious. Breakfast and dinner are buffet style, but dinner is a Buffet of 100 types of Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes, and there are many open kitchens, so you can eat freshly cooked food while it's still hot. In the morning, there are 60 types of Japanese and Western dishes lined up.

It's not a very large hotel, but the open-air baths are amazing! There are three of them. You can enjoy the hot springs to the fullest, including the rare open-air bath in a houseboat, the garden bath with a view of the Nio statue, and the large Mixed-Gender Hot Springs with a view of the Kinugawa River below. Meals are standard, but you can check in early and have fish you catch yourself (rainbow trout, rock char) from the fishing pond on the premises grilled for dinner.
