Here you can fully enjoy the sand bath, a specialty of Ibusuki Onsen. There is also a bathhouse that recreates a large bathhouse from the Edo and Genroku periods in Japan. The bathhouse is as large as a pool, so you can enjoy bathing in a spacious space.

Ibusuki Royal Hotel does not have a sand bath on site, but they provide a free shuttle bus to a place where sand baths are available, so it wasn't a problem. The large public bath and open-air bath in the hotel had good quality water and a nice view. We also enjoyed the delicious shochu and Satsuma Kuroge Wagyu steak, as well as other dishes made with local ingredients.

If you are traveling to Kagoshima, I recommend "Ibusuki Shusuien." There are foot baths and sand foot baths where you can soak while looking at the garden, as well as a gallery and a shop, and many other services are available within the building. There is a fee for the hot springs, but the private baths were very nice. The scent and atmosphere of the cypress bath was particularly soothing. The food includes seafood caught in the waters off Kagoshima and a kaiseki dinner of the famous black pork shabu-shabu. Of course, you can also enjoy delicious shochu.

I went to Yakushima 10 years ago. It is the largest hotel in Yakushima and has a 33,000m2 garden. When you enter the hotel, you are greeted by a huge Yakusugi tree that reaches up to the second floor. I don't know if it's still there, but when I went to Yakusugi Land by bus, I was surprised that the guests of Iwasaki Hotel were allowed to board even when it wasn't a bus stop, and when we came across a deer in the mountains on the way, the bus stopped and we had time to take photos. It was a wonderful trip.

Ibusuki Iwasaki Hotel is a great place to enjoy the hot springs and the ocean view. There is also a sand bath inside the hotel, and after the sand bath, it feels great to take a bath in the open-air bath overlooking the ocean. It's especially good to take a bath while watching the sunrise. The food is also pretty good, so it's a hotel the whole family can enjoy.

Unfortunately, there are no accommodations that offer free shuttle buses to Kagoshima Chuo Station. To get to Ibusuki Station and Kagoshima Chuo Station, please take the local train. At Kyuka Mura, not only can you enjoy the free-flowing Ibusuki hot spring water from the large indoor bath and the open-air bath with a view of Kinko Bay up close, but you can also enjoy a sand bath (990 yen per use). There is also a private semi-open-air bath. For dinner, you can choose your main dish and then enjoy a half-buffet style meal, so you can eat lots of local cuisine. For breakfast, there is a buffet with sweets and fruit, which gets you excited starting off with a healthy tropical breakfast.

Ibusuki Onsen Koran no Yu Kinkoro will surely meet your needs. The large public bath offers a great view of Kinko Bay. There is also an open-air bath in the garden. Reservations are required. The open-air bath is a little small, but it is very tasteful and you can relax in it. There is a shochu bar in the hotel, so parents and children can have a great time sipping on potato shochu and a variety of other fine sakes.

Although it is not an extremely cheap hotel, I recommend JR Hotel Yakushima. The appeal of this hotel is the spectacular ocean Breathtaking view. Since it is built on the tip of a cape, you can enjoy a panoramic view. The rooms and the building are well-maintained and clean. It is a 40-minute bus ride from Yakushima Airport, and a 25-minute bus ride from Awa Port, so you can get there without a car.

Conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Miyanoura Port, this hotel is also recommended for those planning to visit the island. You can relax in the clean interior and rooms. Reasonable accommodation prices are recommended.

This hotel is about 30 minutes by car from Kagoshima Airport, but even if you don't have a car, there is a bus that goes from the airport to the hotel, so it is convenient. You can see Sakurajima from the large observation bath, and the open-air bath also had a great view, allowing you to feel close to nature. There are many types of private baths, so you can enjoy a variety of baths. The shop sells a lot of local alcohol, including the popular Satsuma shochu (you can also sample it), so you're sure to find your favorite shochu!

Although it is called "A hotel with an open-air bath married couple," it is not limited to married couple. There are rooms that can accommodate up to five people, and the price is reasonable, so it is a recommended hotel. Since it is located by the sea, you can see Kagoshima Bay from the rooms. The hot spring is 100% natural hot spring, and there is a large public bath (indoor bath) on the second floor, where you can overlook the ocean. If you're in Ibusuki Onsen, how about staying at Ibusuki Kaijo Hotel? With the sea right in front of you, you can enjoy the atmosphere of being on a boat trip. It's conveniently located just 8 minutes by car from Yakushima Airport. It's perfect for hiking to Jomon Sugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the price is reasonable. There are convenience stores, supermarkets, and restaurants within walking distance, so it's very convenient.

There are photogenic spots within the building, and the Satsuma Denshokan Museum is nearby. It's a fun inn with good value for money. There are 14 different types of baths. There is no sand bath within the building, so you will need to go to the nearby Hakusuikan. There are various types such as indoor baths, open-air baths, germanium hot springs, saunas, ice rooms (colder than the cold baths), bedrock baths, and family baths, so you can enjoy bathing to your heart's content by repeatedly bathing in them. For meals, you can eat authentic kaiseki（a traditional Japanese multiple course meal ）and local cuisine in a Japanese meal set for dinner and breakfast. You can stay for one night with two meals for about 12,000 to 15,000 yen per person.

It's only a one-minute walk from Yakushima Airport, so it's convenient as a base for visiting the ancient cedar trees. It's not as luxurious as a resort hotel, but the rooms are clean and there is a bathing facility in front of the hotel where you can enjoy hot spring. The accommodation fee is quite cheap, although it only has a self-service breakfast service. For dinner, if you contact the owner in advance, they will take you to a nearby restaurant.

Kirishima Onsenkyo Kirishima Hotel had great hot springs and shochu. The large garden bath in the hotel was very spacious and impressive. There are many different types of hot springs, so you can enjoy a variety of baths. The food was also delicious, with Kagoshima's local kaiseki cuisine, which goes perfectly with shochu. There are a variety of alcoholic drinks available, including shochu tasting sets and the hotel's original shochu, so I'm sure you'll find one you like.
