1306 Onoaida, Yakushimacho, Kumagegun

  • The largest hotel on Yakushima

  • I went to Yakushima 10 years ago. It is the largest hotel in Yakushima and has a 33,000m2 garden. When you enter the hotel, you are greeted by a huge Yakusugi tree that reaches up to the second floor. I don't know if it's still there, but when I went to Yakusugi Land by bus, I was surprised that the guests of Iwasaki Hotel were allowed to board even when it wasn't a bus stop, and when we came across a deer in the mountains on the way, the bus stopped and we had time to take photos. It was a wonderful trip.

545 Kinugawa Onsen Taki

  • My Recommendation

  • The Kinugawa Onsen Hotel is great. I think it's one of the best hot springs in the Kanto region, and the spring quality is excellent. Kinugawa, surrounded by nature, will help you relieve your daily fatigue. You can get there from Tokyo by train without having to transfer, and you don't need to rent a car there.

Each room is equipped with an open-air bath, so you can fully enjoy the benefits of the hot springs while cherishing your time alone together. In-room dining service is also provided, so you can enjoy delicious food in a relaxing environment. It is reasonably priced at around 20,000 yen per person, so it is perfect for special occasions such as anniversaries. The warm hospitality of the staff is one of the attractions of this inn. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a smile and the polite guidance was impressive. They also provide detailed information about the hot springs and local tourist information, so even those who are new to Tamatsukuri Onsen can stay with peace of mind. The rooms are Japanese-style rooms with a calm design and interior design, providing a comfortable space. You can enjoy beautiful views of nature from the windows, and the view is especially beautiful at dusk. You can spend a dreamlike time watching the starry sky from the open-air bath. It is a spacious, clean, and elegant inn, and the open-air "Kinsen" bath is in the room, so it is great to be able to take a bath in the hot spring whenever you want without worrying about the people around you. Dinner is also served in the room. You will definitely be satisfied.

  • How about Chichibu, which is close by and will put you in the travelling mood?

  • Chichibu is close to Tokyo, but you can enjoy the great outdoors and feel like you're on a trip. It's convenient because they can pick you up from Wadokurodani Station on the Chichibu Railway. I stayed in a Japanese-style room with an open-air bath in the main building, a twin-bed room. The open-air bath in the room is shaped like a tub, so you can relax while looking at the trees. The food is also delicious, so it's a great place to relax.

1304-1, Arima-cho, Kita-ku

  • Meals can be delivered to your room.

  • The rooms with open-air baths vary in price depending on the room grade, and the lowest one costs 70,000 yen per person, but it is a room on the top floor with an excellent view, and the open-air bath is of course a Gin-yu hot spring. The meal is a carefully selected kaiseki course, cooked in the kitchen on the same floor and brought to the room while it is still hot. The food is as extravagant as possible, including Kobe beef fillet and sirloin steak, abalone, sea urchin, and other appetizers, as well as Akashi sea bream and live sashimi of tuna. The breakfast is so luxurious that it could be mistaken for dinner. The bath in the room is of course good, but the inn's observation large bath is on the same floor, so it is easy to get to. The bath has a spacious indoor bath (Ginsen) with Breathtaking view view below, an open-air bath where you can taste Kinsen and Ginsen, and a sauna is also attached. By the way, there is also a wonderful large bath in the basement. If you have time, I recommend going there. The indoor bath and open-air bath have a completely different atmosphere from those on the 9th floor.

  • The ultimate in privacy with an open-air bath

  • We recommend Ginsui-so Choraku in Arima Onsen. It is a rare inn where you can enjoy two different springs (Kinsen and Ginsen) at once, and it is a great inn with a quiet surroundings. The best of them all is the independent guest cottages villa "Shiki" with its open-air bath. There is no contact with other guests, and you can enjoy a special space just for the two of you. It is a wonderful room full of luxury where you can enjoy the open-air baths of "Kinsen" and "Ginsen", the semi-open-air bath, the steam bath, and the foot bath at your own pace on the premises.

433-1, Agatsuma-gun

  • An inn where you can enjoy two hot springs, Kawahara Onsen and Bandaiko Onsen.

  • This hotel has rooms with open-air baths, so we were able to enjoy dinner in our rooms. The best thing about the open-air baths in our rooms is that we can use them whenever we want without any worries. The tasteful design made for a luxurious time. The large open-air bath was also spacious, and we enjoyed a blissful time here while gazing at the natural beauty. Another nice feature was the service of choosing colorful yukata from a wide range of options.

1042 Tamayu-cho Tamatsukuri, Matsue-shi

  • A hotel near Tamasakuyu Shrine with an open-air bath

  • There is an open-air bath where the water flows from deep in the bamboo forest. I was able to relax thoroughly in the quaint space. Some plans include in-room dining, but not all do. From my room at Kachotei, I could see the torii gate of Tamasakuyu Shrine, which is popular among women. It is a short walk to Tamasakuyu Shrine and a few minutes walk from the center of Tamatsukuri Onsen, and the first bus stop for buses to Matsue is next door, so it was very convenient.

  • This is an inn that offers meals delivered to rooms with open-air baths.

  • This inn is sandwiched between Mt. Okuba and the Takigawa River, which boasts the best natural scenery in Arima Onsen. We recommend the independent guest cottages guest room "Kyokusuitei" with its own 100% natural hot spring in the open-air baths "Tamahoko-no-yu" and "Afuku-no-yu" along the Takigawa River, as well as in the large public baths "Kame-no-yu" and "Tsuru-no-yu". As for meals, you can dine on kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )made with seafood caught in the Hyogo region and Kobe beef in your room. The specially ordered dishes such as the Kobe beef amai-yaki and Akashi seafood teppanyaki are particularly delicious.

191 Yumoto Chaya, Hakone-Machi, Ashigarashimo-Gun

  • Hakone hotel with a wide variety of baths

  • I went to Hakone on my honeymoon in December and it was great. If you have a budget of 30,000 yen per person, I think you can stay in a room with an open-air bath at this hotel. Just having an open-air bath in the room makes you feel rich. In the large public bath, you can enjoy various baths from five hot springs. There was also a foot bath. There was also a private bath by reservation. For meals, there is a plan where you can enjoy Japanese kaiseki cuisine in a private kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal ). I had the buffet, but it was clearly different from the buffets around there, with crab, steak, and many other things. It was high-class. Even the buffet was delicious, so kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )must be delicious. There are plenty of amenities, such as lotions and gauze handkerchiefs. You can also rent cute yukatas. It is close to Shinjuku, about 75 minutes away. Hakone-Yumoto Station is the nearest station, and there are many shuttle buses to the hotel.

4-313 Hanasatocho, Gifu Prefecture

  • A hot spring inn close to Takayama Station, a good base for sightseeing

  • You can eat Hida beef at most lodgings in Hida Takayama. One of the most recommended is Hida Hanazato no Yu Takayama Ouan. Located just a 5-minute walk from JR Takayama Station, it offers fresh Hida beef and Hida Takayama local cuisine. There is also an open-air bath and a private bath on the top floor (13th floor) of the hotel, where you can enjoy the view of Takayama city and the Northern Alps.

  • You can taste Hida beef and enjoy the view of Tobida Takayama Onsen.

  • This inn serves delicious Hida beef grilled on a hoba leaf. Hida beef is naturally delicious when eaten as is, but it is also exquisite when eaten with hoba miso, a local dish of Takayama. I think you can enjoy the local gourmet food. Also, perhaps because the water is clean in this area, the bread at breakfast is especially delicious and recommended. The hot springs are also great, as you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Northern Alps while soaking in the Tobida Takayama Onsen from the hotel's observation deck.

324-25 Koseda, Yakushima cho

  • You can see the planes from the hotel

  • It's only a one-minute walk from Yakushima Airport, so it's convenient as a base for visiting the ancient cedar trees. It's not as luxurious as a resort hotel, but the rooms are clean and there is a bathing facility in front of the hotel where you can enjoy hot spring. The accommodation fee is quite cheap, although it only has a self-service breakfast service. For dinner, if you contact the owner in advance, they will take you to a nearby restaurant.
