If that's what you're looking for, how about going to "Bijintei"? The baths aren't very large, but you can enjoy the moisturizing Bijin-no-yu (a hot spring of beauty). They also serve game dishes. They even have a Kumano beef course. Please consider this as one of your options.

三重県の熊野市の入鹿温泉がおすすめです。熊野古道の本宮道をたどる途中で寄りました。大浴場は広くて、露天風呂から一望できる北山川は絶景でした。サウナや水風呂もあって充実しています。周辺は山と川しかないので、とても静かで自然の中で癒されました。部屋も和室で広くてゆったりとくつげました。食事は三重の食材で、夕食は季節の彩りが楽しめる会席料理で日頃は味わえない贅沢を堪能できした。朝食の和定食も充分な量で美味しかったです。あとセルフサービスのコーヒーも良かったです。

日本最古の湯と言われる「湯の峰温泉」の宿です。その歴史を感じさせてくれる赴きある佇まい。槙の湯船がとても心地よく、一日の疲れを癒してくれました。元祖サウナと呼びたくなるような蒸し風呂があり、日本に数件しかないほどの貴重な体験ができます。お料理もとても美味しく大満足。夜はとても静かで、ゆっくりと寝ることができました。

It's a traditional retro Ryokan (Japanese inn), so there's nothing new about it, but it's clean and the staff are friendly, so I think it will be a good memory. There is no large public bath, only private hot springs, so you can bathe without worrying about being seen by others, which is another recommended point. All you have to do is tell them the time you want to use it when you check in, so even first-time users shouldn't have any problems. There is also a ping pong table.
