There is a wood stove, which gives it a charming atmosphere in winter, and because it is a purely Japanese-style building, there is a healing space where you can feel the warmth of the wood. The hot spring is an old-fashioned indoor bath, but the water is soft and keeps your body warm and comfortable. The water blends with your skin and makes it smooth. You can enjoy the river and mountain delicacies that are unique to Gifu Prefecture. The river fish grilled on a charcoal Japanese hearth is the best. You can enjoy it with sake. When you think of Gifu Prefecture, you think of Hida beef! They have steak and sukiyaki, but you will be surprised by the sweetness, flavor, and tenderness of Hida beef. It will satisfy both your mind and body. This is a great hidden hot spring inn for those who want delicious food and hot springs during the New Year holidays.

「あすなろ」は、越後の豪農の館を移築、復元した和の風情漂う飛騨高山温泉の宿。街中にありながらひっそり佇み、心静かにお寛ぎいただける穴場な宿です。部屋数も少なく、年末年始をゆっくりお過ごしになるのにもおすすめ。また、飛騨牛をはじめ岐阜県の地元食材をふんだんに使った旬のお料理も宿の自慢で、12月から1月にかけては冬ならではの味覚に舌鼓を打っていただけます。

This is a small inn that sits quietly in the Shin Hirayu Onsen, surrounded by nature. It is small, with only seven rooms, so the warmth of the staff is palpable. The meals are homemade and can be enjoyed at your leisure in a private room. The Hida beef is tender, rich in flavor, and exquisite. We stayed in a 12.5 tatami room in the main building, and the view from the window was amazing, so we were able to relax. The rustic open-air bath in the large communal bath is also the best. There is nothing but nature around the inn, so it is very quiet. It is perfect for when you want to forget about the hustle and bustle.

It's not well known, but it's a great inn. It's a hidden gem of a rural inn with 8 rooms, located in the middle of 49,000 square meters of nature at the foot of the Hida mountains. There's Japanese hearth and a waterwheel, so you can feel close to nature. It's independent guest cottages from the station, but if you make a reservation 7 days before your stay, there is a shuttle service from Takayama Station (West Exit/Hakusan Exit). You can also enjoy the hypotonic, weakly alkaline natural hot spring in a wild rock bath that makes use of huge stones from the Jomon period and a cypress bath. As for the food, you can eat a Japanese banquet using local seasonal ingredients such as high-quality Hida beef and fresh river fish that are unique to Hida Takayama.
