Want to experience Namahage in Akita? The Oshika Peninsula is a good place, but there are only a few hotels in Onjuku. I recommend the Oga Kanko Hotel. Ibusuki Royal Hotel does not have a sand bath on site, but they provide a free shuttle bus to a place where sand baths are available, so it wasn't a problem. The large public bath and open-air bath in the hotel had good quality water and a nice view. We also enjoyed the delicious shochu and Satsuma Kuroge Wagyu steak, as well as other dishes made with local ingredients.

This is a historic hotel in Jozankei Onsen. There is a free shuttle bus from Sapporo Station, so it is easy to access.
