  • If you're planning your first visit of the year, we recommend Kasuga Taisha Shrine in Nara.

  • Hotels near Kashihara Jingu-mae Station (1 minute walk)

  • It is close to Kashihara Shrine, so it is perfect for New Year's visits. There are Japanese-style and Western-style rooms. The ancient capital of Kashihara is the perfect place to spend time feeling the romance of the Manyo period. There is a hot spring bath called "Kashihara no Yu" that springs from within the hotel grounds, so you can enjoy the hot springs. Asuka is a 10-minute drive away.

  • If you want to see the mighty Mt. Fuji, this is the only place to stay!

  • I have stayed at many inns with a view of Mt. Fuji, but none have left as much of an impression as this one. At Kyukamura Fuji Hotel, located on the western shore of Lake Tanuki, you can see the giant Mt. Fuji and its reflection in the lake from every room and open-air bath! The sight of Mt. Fuji is impressive. The accommodation fee is reasonable, and you can enjoy your favorite dishes in a Buffet style for dinner and breakfast. The location is great, so if you wake up early in the morning, you can immediately go for a walk on the promenade around the lake. You can go around the whole lake in about an hour. The refreshing morning atmosphere and Mt. Fuji match perfectly, making for a pleasant walk. It is also popular with families with children. There is a natural history museum near the inn, where you can learn about the nature of Mt. Fuji. There is also a campsite nearby, where you can experience the natural environment firsthand.

1-2 Sanjo Honmachi, Nara-shi

  • Conveniently located accommodation

  • I thought of some major temples and shrines, but I think Kasuga Taisha in Nara is not that crowded, even though it is lively. From the hotel, you can either walk for about 20 minutes along the gentle shopping street, or take the city loop bus (about 10 minutes, 200 yen), where you can see deer along the way. If there is no traffic jam, the bus is fast and easy. Either way, there are plenty of outdoor stalls, and it is easy to travel to other cities.

  • Villa near Fuji-Q Highland

  • Fuji-Q Highland is open during the New Year holidays, so how about a hotel nearby? After enjoying skating and the rides at the nearby Fuji-Q Highland, you can relax at your villa. There is a private open-air bath and a BBQ terrace, so adults can enjoy it too. You will need to bring your own ingredients for the BBQ, but the hotel will provide you with other equipment. They will also help you start a fire, so it's easy. They also have other items available for rental, such as takoyaki machines and table games, so you can spend your private time as if you were at your own villa.

50 Warabidaira, Jobanfujiwara-machi, Iwaki-shi

  • A resort hotel in Iwaki where you can experience a tropical atmosphere

  • How about Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture? It was also the setting for the movie "Hula Girls." This resort hotel is always warm at around 25 degrees! There are six theme parks on an area the size of six Tokyo Domes. There are hot springs, pools, and hula dance shows, so you can enjoy it all day long. There are also rooms where small children such as infants and babies can stay comfortably. We went there at the end of last year. For dinner, we had elaborate meals at a nearby Japanese restaurant. The local people were also kind, so it's a fond memory.

10 Asakawa, Fujikawaguchiko-machi, Minamitsuru-gun

  • View of Mt. Fuji from the shores of Lake Kawaguchi

  • You can see Mt. Fuji from every room. If you're lucky, you can see the upside-down Mt. Fuji over Lake Kawaguchi in the early morning. Also, it has nothing to do with Mt. Fuji, but since you're going with your mother, I'll let you in on some top-secret information. How about booking a massage as a surprise? The massage lady who will help you show your appreciation for your mother is top-notch (apparently famous in the area), so ask at the hotel. I've been traveling to hot springs all over Japan for about 30 years, and I think this is one of the top three in the country.

478-1 Toi, Izu-shi

  • View of Mt. Fuji across the sea

  • How about visiting a hot spring by ferry? You can enjoy a boat trip across Suruga Bay from Shimizu Port to Toi Port using the Suruga Bay Ferry. If you make a reservation in advance, they will pick you up from Toi Port to your hotel. The view of Mt. Fuji floating on Suruga Bay is spectacular! Mt. Fuji is especially white in winter, and the air is clear, so you can see Mt. Fuji clearly. We also recommend a walk around the old gold mine from the hot spring area.

5-6-1 Shinnishihara, Fujiyoshida-shi

  • Resort hotel next to Fuji-Q Highland

  • We recommend the Highland Resort Hotel & Spa. The view of Mt. Fuji from the window is outstanding. This hotel is next to Fuji-Q Highland, so you can enjoy Fuji-Q Highland there. You can also enjoy hot springs at the facility next to the hotel. The bath is made of pure wood and features nail-free beams, based on the motif of an important cultural property building in Hida Takayama, giving you a taste of Japanese atmosphere. The scent of wood is also soothing.

  • There is an open-air bath with a view of Mt. Fuji.

  • Above all, the view of Mt. Fuji from the open-air bath is Breathtaking view. The open-air bath is very spacious and if the weather is good, I think it is really comfortable. The accommodation fee is also relatively cheap. They also provide a shuttle service from the nearest station, Ohito Station, so it's a good idea to contact them.

The Japanese-Western dinner and Buffet style breakfast are both delicious. Both men and women can enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji from the open-air bath, and the view of Mt. Fuji from the women's open-air bath is particularly Breathtaking view.

16-45 Oge-Tosadomoariura

  • A resort hotel in Tokushima where you can enjoy a variety of activities
