With a large parking lot and good access, it is definitely recommended if you are traveling by car.
I recommend Hotel Crystal Palace. It's a little independent guest cottages from Katsuta Station, but it's close to Hitachinaka Interchange, and best of all, it has a large, free parking lot that can accommodate 500 cars. Hitachi Seaside Park is also easily accessible, about 15 minutes by car. It has a large public bath with artificial onsen(hot spring), so you can relax and soothe your fatigue after walking or driving around the park. I think it's a very convenient hotel as a base for sightseeing by car.

How about Hotel Crystal Palace? If you don't have much luggage, you can walk about 5 minutes from Kanagami Station on the Hitachinaka Seaside Railway. To get to Hitachi Seaside Park, you can either take a taxi from the hotel or return to Katsuta Station and take a bus. Although it's not directly connected to the station, the benefit of choosing this hotel is that it has a large public bath! It's open until late at night, so you can relax in it even after playing in the park.

A hotel with a large public bath near Hitachi Seaside Park
This hotel is located close to Ibaraki's tourist attractions, such as Oarai, Ajigaura, and Hitachi Seaside Park, making it the perfect base for sightseeing. The building is old, but it is well-cleaned and clean. There is a large public bath where you can stretch your legs and relax in it. The rate is cheap, even with breakfast included. Breakfast is Buffet with a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes, and it tastes delicious. The staff, including reception desk staff and restaurant staff, were very friendly.
