A seaside hotel where you can enjoy delicious monkfish hotpot in winter
This is also not Ryokan (Japanese inn) (traditional Japanese inn), but it is a hotel that offers great food that lets you fully enjoy the bounty of Ibaraki Prefecture's abundant seafood. It is about an hour's bus ride from Kairakuen. In winter, it is popular for its luxurious course menu, which includes monkfish hotpot, a specialty of the hotel. The view from the open-air bath overlooking the Pacific Ocean is also spectacular, and you can relax and enjoy Oarai's natural onsen(hot spring).

Newly renovated, clean and comfortable hotel
Kamenoi Hotel Oarai has been renovated in recent years, and both the guest rooms and restaurant are clean and comfortable. Located on a hill overlooking Oarai Port, you can enjoy the natural onsen(hot spring) while gazing at the ocean from the observation bath. A free shuttle bus runs from Oarai Station, and the hotel arrives in about 15 minutes. While it's a little far from Hitachi Seaside Park, this is a recommended hotel for a comfortable stay.

The view and the monkfish hotpot are recommended.
It's a short drive from Mito, and if you take the train to Oarai Station, there is also a shuttle bus. It's on a bit of a hill, so the view of the river flowing into the sea is very beautiful. You can see it well from the hot springs, which have a good view. Of course, the monkfish hotpot is also delicious. Since it's a "Kanpo no Yado", the price is reasonable and I was satisfied.

Close to the coastline with great views
Dinner is served with lots of fresh sashimi. Breakfast is served Buffet style with a wide variety of options. The bath is a natural hot spring, so you can enjoy the open air and the scenery. There is an Aqua World Oarai aquarium nearby, so it's a good place to visit after a walk on the coast.

Reasonable hotel
You need a car to get to the beach, but it's not too far away. It's a public inn, but the facilities were clean and there is a large public bath. The food is pretty good, too. It's also convenient for going to the aquarium.
