This hotel is a member of the Japan Association of Secret Hot Springs, so it's definitely worth a visit. There is a private open-air bath that you can enjoy for free. It's in the Oku-Kinu Onsen area, so it's quiet and relaxing. Another reason it's recommended is that the rates are relatively cheap. It takes about an hour and 20 minutes by train from Nikko Station, but it's a great hotel, so it's definitely worth considering. If you go by car in the winter, you'll need to use snow tires and bring tire chains as you'll be driving through mountain roads.
