Especially recommended for summer vacation, the pool and the buffet with Breathtaking view view are the best
If you're visiting in the summer, we recommend Lake Biwa Otsu Prince Hotel. There's a large outdoor pool shaped like Lake Biwa, and a shallow children's pool, so kids will have a blast playing there. The restaurant buffet on the 37th floor is a staple in the evening. They have a wide selection of roast beef and Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes, and kids' favorites like hamburgers and fries, as well as soft serve ice cream that you can make yourself, which was a delight. They also hold summer festival events during certain periods, so you can enjoy the hotel all day long.

Baby-friendly access and facilities
Lake Biwa Otsu Prince Hotel is just two stops from Kyoto Station, about 10 minutes away, and there's a free shuttle bus from Otsu Station, making it extremely accessible. The hotel has a nursing room (diaper changing area) on the first floor, and they even lend out baby bottle sterilizer sets for free. All rooms have a beautiful lake view, so it's highly recommended for families with babies who want to relax in their rooms.

If you're staying in Shiga as a base for sightseeing in Kyoto, Lake Biwa Otsu Prince Hotel is a great choice. This 38-story high-rise hotel has all rooms facing Lake Biwa. The panoramic view from the windows is truly spectacular. If you're traveling with your family, we recommend choosing a room with a bathroom with a washing area. It was very easy to give small children a bath. It's also conveniently located just 10 minutes by train from Kyoto Station, making travel less of a hassle.

This resort hotel stands tall on the shores of Lake Biwa, and all rooms have a lake view. You can enjoy a panoramic view of Lake Biwa from your room, and the scenery changes with the seasons. Biwako Valley is about a 40-minute drive away. The hotel is close to the highway interchange, and has a parking lot, so those who come by rental car can rest assured. All rooms are spacious and open, so a family of four can relax comfortably. There are plenty of facilities on-site, such as restaurants and bars, making this the perfect hotel for a base for sightseeing around Lake Biwa.
