Ryokan Ryuguden

I stayed here while touring Hakone's three major sacred places Hakone Shrine, Kuzuryu Shrine, and Hakone Motomiya. The room was a spacious Japanese-style room on the first floor, with a view of Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji. The view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashi from the open-air bath in the main building was so amazing that I wanted to stay in it forever. The indoor bath was also spacious and had a great view. However, the last bath in the main building is at 7pm, so I wanted to try using it after dinner. The indoor baths for guests can be used to relax in Takogawa Onsen until early in the morning or late at night.

Hakone-en is next door, so it's a very convenient location. We stayed in the annex, but the room was a spacious Japanese-style room with a panoramic view from the wall of windows. We were satisfied with the view of Lake Ashi. It was nice to be able to see Mt. Fuji from our room early in the morning. The bath on the main building side had Breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji. There are no private baths, but there are special rooms with indoor hot spring baths. The meals were seasonal kaiseki cuisine for dinner and Japanese set meals for breakfast, which were all carefully prepared and delicious, and we were full.

This is a purely Japanese-style inn in Hakone. You can see Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashi from every room! There are no private baths, but there are hot springs in both the main building and the annex. I recommend the open-air bath in the main building, which has a Breathtaking view infinity hot spring that seems to be one with Lake Ashi. The annex only has an indoor bath, but you can relax in the hot spring while looking at the Japanese garden. The inn can be reached directly from Odawara Station by a free shuttle bus for guests only. Alternatively, you can take a highway bus from Shinjuku, get off at "Hakone-en" and walk for 2 minutes, so it is convenient if you are coming from the Tokyo metropolitan area.
