I've been seeing those amazing infinity onsen on Instagram—the ones where the hot spring seems to merge right into the landscape. I'd love to experience one for myself! Located right at sea level, the surface of the onsen seems to merge seamlessly with the waters of Beppu Bay. There's absolutely nothing to obstruct your view. The time I spent soaking in the bath, gazing out at nothing but the vast sky and the calm sea, was the ultimate detox for my soul.
