  • Ryokan Misasakan
  • Are there any recommended lodgings in Misasa Onsen in December that have open-air baths where you can enjoy bath to view the snow?

I'm thinking of visiting Misasa Onsen in December. My main goal is to try the open-air bath. Since it's December, I think we'll be able to see snow, so if possible, I'd like to experience bath to view the snow. Please let me know if there are any recommended inns with open-air baths.

Ryokan Misasakan

174 Yamada, Tohaku-gun

  • You can enjoy this famous hot spring with over 850 years of history in a variety of different baths.

  • Misasa Onsen Misasakan is a hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) that boasts a wide variety of open-air baths. You can enjoy 12 different types of baths, including the "Niwa no Yu" (garden bath) surrounded by a Japanese garden and the "Taki no Yu" (waterfall bath) that surrounds a waterfall from the source of the spring, all of which have a history of over 850 years. Snow falls in this area from around December, so if you visit in the winter, you can enjoy a fantastic view while soaking in the snow-viewing open-air bath.

  • You can also enjoy hot spring while admiring the snowy scenery.

  • The garden-style open-air bath is a rock bath surrounded by trees, allowing you to experience a sense of oneness with Nature. You can also bathe while looking at the snowy scenery. Directly flowing from the source is fed by one of the world's leading radon hot spring, and you can enjoy open-air bath as well as the indoor baths. This is a historic hot spring inn that has been certified as a Japanese Heritage Site.

Misasa Onsen Izanro Iwasaki

365-1 Misasa, Misasa-cho, Tohaku-gun

  • Enjoy the best bath to view the snow in the vast open-air garden bath

  • "Isanro Iwasaki" is famous as a long-established Ryokan (Japanese inn) that represents Misasa Onsen. This hot spring inn has open-air baths with different themes scattered throughout its vast hot spring garden, and in winter you can soak in the hot spring while watching the snowy scenery. You can enjoy bath to view the snow in the spacious, open-air bath, "Yama no Yu," which is a large circular garden bath. There are also rooms with open-air baths, so you can have the snowy scenery all to yourself in a private space.
