Atami Sekitei

6-17 Wada-machi

  • Atami Onsen Inn!

  • After sightseeing in Tokyo, we recommend staying at Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Atami on your way back home from Kansai International Airport. This is an inn where you can enjoy an elegant Japanese stone garden with inscribed stones and stone lanterns. For meals, you can enjoy authentic kaiseki cuisine. The hot springs are equipped with an open-air bath in the room. You can enjoy the hot springs in a private space.

Sekitei

3-5-27 Miyahama Onsen, Hatsukaichi-shi

  • The inn boasts a pond and a stroll-style garden centered around a famous pine tree.

  • This is Ryokan (Japanese inn) located in Hiroshima, along the Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen line. If you have access to Onoura Station, there is a shuttle service available. This hot spring inn has a great view, located on a hill overlooking Miyajima. The inn boasts a pond and a stroll-style garden centered around a famous pine tree, allowing you to fully enjoy the nature of Seto. You can also stroll through the garden, which is sure to make for a great memory. The hot spring is a weak alkaline simple spring that is gentle on the skin and has excellent skin-beautifying effects, so you can enjoy a pleasant bath in the large public bath or open-air bath.

Matsudaya Hotel

3-6-7 Yuda-Onsen,

  • A long-established Ryokan (Japanese inn) that represents Yuda Onsen

  • It takes about 20 minutes to get to Yuda Onsen by local train from Shin-Yamaguchi Station on the Shinkansen line. Among them is a long-established Ryokan (Japanese inn) that has been in operation since the Edo period, and the courtyard is a pure Japanese garden with a magnificent view. The cuisine is also authentic Japanese kaiseki.

Izuajiro-onsen Shoufuen

Shimotaga 966

  • A hotel with a 13,000m2 Japanese garden in Ajiro

  • I recommend Shofuen, which offers free transportation from Ajiro Station, about 15 minutes from Atami Station. This used to be a villa for a count, and has a 13,000m2 garden with Nishikigoi carp swimming in the pond. Women can also borrow colorful yukatas for free, so foreign guests will love it. Dinner is kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )using seafood and mountain produce, including spiny lobster and abalone. The bath is of course a natural hot spring with a high pH value that makes the skin beautiful. And yet the price is cheap depending on the grade of the meal. In addition, there are Japanese-style rooms that can accommodate four people, so if you are visiting Japan with a group of several people, you can sleep side by side on futons. This is something that will definitely be appreciated!

Hotel Gajoen Tokyo

1-8-1, Shimomeguro, Meguro-ku

  • Museum hotel located in Meguro

  • I was impressed by the gorgeous decorations, the Nishikigoi carp swimming in the building, and the 100-step staircase. I was overwhelmed by the retro atmosphere and gorgeous decorations, and had a wonderful time. The breakfast was also very delicious. The view of the Japanese garden was so elegant and gorgeous that it was hard to believe it was in Tokyo.

三平荘

1-7 Minaguchichō, Atami

  • independent guest cottages room has its own private garden!

  • Sanpeiso in Atami is an inn with 60 years of history. The hotel itself is located in a green area, but if you stay in the independent guest cottages "Akebono" room, you will have your own private garden that you can stroll around in. It even comes with an open-air hot spring bath! There are hot spring inns with large gardens, but there are few hotels with their own "private gardens". It's a little expensive, but if you're staying with four people it's a little cheaper, and you can enjoy a luxurious stay for just one night. Sanpeiso itself only has 11 guest rooms, so you can spend your time in a quiet environment.
