  • What accommodation would you recommend for Australians visiting Tokyo for the first time?

This year, an Australian married couple in their mid-20s are planning to come to Tokyo. Can you recommend a place to stay? It will be their first time in Japan and they cannot speak Japanese, so it would be best to have somewhere that has English support. They would prefer a hotel in an easily accessible location such as Shinjuku or Shibuya, but if there are any recommendations for guesthouses that are popular with foreigners, even if they are outside of their preferred area, please let me know.

Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo

2-2-1 Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku

  • It is a comfortable hotel

  • Located a 5-minute walk from the west exit of Shinjuku Station, it has good access to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building on the Oedo Line and is a great base for sightseeing. Amenities are provided, and there is a lounge with a Starbucks espresso machine and a convenience store, so it is comfortable to stay.

  • There is a direct bus from the airport so you won't get lost

  • There is a limousine bus from the airport, so even if it's your first time, you can get to the hotel without getting lost. It's also close to Shinjuku Station, and there are staff members who can speak English. I had a foreign friend stay here before and it was very well received. There have also been some great deals on room rates if you book early, so be sure to check out the rates early.
