  • Ryokan Izutsuya
  • Recommended family-friendly accommodations in Yumura Onsen, Hyogo Prefecture

I'm planning to go on a sightseeing trip to Hyogo Prefecture with my family. We would like to visit Himeji Castle and other places, and stay at Yumura Onsen at night. Please let me know if there are any inns where we can enjoy good food and hot springs.

Ryokan Izutsuya

1535 Yu, Shinonsencho, Mikata gun

  • A relaxing Ryokan (Japanese inn)

  • "Kasenkyo Izutsuya" is a venerable Ryokan (Japanese inn) where members of the imperial family have stayed in the past. There are two hot springs, one with a view and one underground, but both have spacious baths where you can relax and unwind. The open-air bath in the basement has a Japanese atmosphere, while the one with a view overlooks the town of Yumura and has a sense of openness.

  • A prestigious place where you can enjoy the hot springs

  • A recommended inn in Yumura Onsen is "Kasenkyo Izutsuya." The Imperial family has stayed there in the past. There are many types of baths, including a rock bath and a cypress bath with a barb bath. The cypress bath with a view is recommended. At the bathhouse with a view, a drink service is provided, such as a soft drink, a glass of beer, or cold sake. There is a fee for a private bath, but the view is great and it is barrier-free.

  • A prestigious inn

  • If you're in Yumura Onsen, we recommend "Kasenkyo Izutsuya," which has a wide variety of baths. Long ago, the Emperor stayed here. There are five baths of various sizes and an open-air bath. You can also enjoy local cuisine such as Tajima beef and "arayu tofu."

  • The hot springs and cuisine are luxurious

  • The bath is spacious. There is a rock sauna in the bath, which you can use for free. The food was delicious and beautiful, with Tajima beef and Matsuba crab. The Emperor was staying there, and the landlady showed him around the room. It was luxurious, built like a mansion.

  • A wide variety of baths available, including herbal baths

  • Reservations are required and a shuttle service is available from the west exit of JR Ebara Station once a day. Baths There are a variety of baths, including a large, rock-built bath and an open-air herbal bath. You can also enjoy a bedrock bath. We had dinner in the hall. At this time of year, they serve crab dishes. Crab miso is especially delicious. It goes well with alcohol. The Emperor has also stayed at this inn.

  • Quiet and calm accommodation

  • Yumura Onsen is a hot spring village where the water springs up in a valley a little way into the mountains from the Sanin Sea. It still retains the atmosphere of a quiet hot spring resort that has continued since the Edo period. "Kasenkyo Izutsuya" is a long-established inn with five baths, both indoors and outdoors, so you can enjoy a variety of baths. In addition to Tajima beef and other Tajima ingredients, there is also a lot of seafood available due to the close proximity of the Sea of Japan.

Yumura Onsen Asanoya Ryokan

No. 1269, Yu, Japan

  • The meals are made with vegetables from the restaurant's own farm.

  • Ryokan (Japanese inn) is located in the northern part of Hyogo Prefecture. It has good access to the Tottori Sand Dunes and other places, so it is recommended as a base for sightseeing. The rooms are high-quality Japanese-style rooms. Some rooms have an open-air bath, so you can relax in the bath in your room. For meals, you can enjoy local specialty crab and Tajima beef. In addition to open-air and indoor baths, there are also private baths. The attention to ingredients is also a plus, as the rice used is from the inn's own farm.

  • A typical Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Yumura

  • Asanoya is a high-grade, satisfying Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Yumura Onsen. From the elegant entrance to the food, baths, and hospitality, everything is excellent. It is also conveniently located to nearby tourist attractions such as Yumura Onsen town. There are rooms with open-air baths, and the bath water in all rooms is drawn from hot springs. The food is also delicious, with Tajima beef and Matsuba crab caught in the Sea of Japan. I have spent New Year's at Asanoya many times, and it has always been a satisfying holiday.
