I'm going to Izumo for the first time. Can you recommend a place to stay that's not too far from Izumo Airport or Izumo Taisha Shrine?
My mother will be celebrating her 88th birthday this year, so I would like to take her on a 2-night, 3-day trip in May with my 3 children and my spouse. If possible, please let me know a recommended hotel that is not too far from Izumo Airport or Izumo Taisha Shrine. I would like the cost of my mother's accommodation to be shared among the three families, and to be within 100,000 yen per family.

- It is within walking distance of Izumo Taisha Shrine. The building is old, but that gives it a nice feel. When I stayed there before, I was impressed by how delicious the Nodoguro and Shimane beef were. The breakfast was also very delicious. It is located a little way into a residential area, so it was quiet. There was a ping pong table, so I enjoyed it for the first time in a while. It is a small inn, so I was able to relax in the bath, which was reserved for me.やくも's answer (Posted on:2016/10/21)

A famous hot spring area close to Izumo Taisha Shrine and Matsue Station
-
I recommend "Kasuien Minami" in Tamatsukuri Onsen, a famous hot spring resort in Shimane Prefecture. I have stayed here before with a crab meal plan during crab season, and was satisfied with both the taste and quantity. We ate at the dining area, not in the room. It was a nice inn with attention to detail, such as tea service after leaving the hot spring. I would say it is on the high-end side, but since the minimum price is 100,000 yen per family, it is unfortunately not super high-end enough to fit our budget of about 300,000 yen for three families. However, if you can get a luxurious meal plan, I think you can get as close as possible to your budget. The hot spring was also of very good quality and we were very satisfied.ユーザー's answer (Posted on:2014/6/ 3)

Hotels near Izumo Taisha Station
- It's close to Izumo Station! That's the best thing about it. They will store your luggage for free, and if you don't care about hot springs or food, it's convenient because it's directly connected to the station. You can get on a bus or train in no time. You can get to Izumo Taisha Shrine in one go on the Ichibata Electric Railway. They also have barrier-free rooms, and the building is spacious, so you can stay comfortably.ハル's answer (Posted on:2017/3/15)

It takes exactly one hour to get to Izumo Taisha Shrine by Ichibata Railway.
- The hotel is just a few minutes from Matsue Shinjiko Onsen Station on the Ichibata Railway. It's great to walk along the shore and watch the sunrise over Lake Shinji in the morning. It's also fun to ride the train to Izumo Taisha Shrine while looking at Lake Shinji. The food was also good. If you're staying for two nights, I recommend Matsue City, although it's not close to Izumo Taisha Shrine.いいさん's answer (Posted on:2014/6/ 3)

Located in front of Izumo Taisha Shrine
- It is convenient for visiting Izumo Taisha Shrine, located in front of the main torii gate. The aged wooden building has a sense of dignity. It is also known as the family home of the famous Japanese singer Maria Takeuchi, and related goods are on display. Those around 60 years old may find something nostalgic here.ユーザー's answer (Posted on:2014/6/ 3)
