  • Nagatoro Choseikan Ryokan
  • Chichibu Onsen: Best Ryokans with Private Open-Air Onsen

I'm looking for a ryokan in Chichibu Onsen with a private open-air bath in the room. A natural hot spring would be great, but it's not a dealbreaker. What are some good options?

Nagatoro Choseikan Ryokan

  • Authentic Japanese Room with Private Tub

  • We stayed in a large Japanese-style room (washitsu) with a private open-air tub. The traditional tatami mat smell was so relaxing—it was the authentic ryokan experience we were looking for. The private ceramic tub was the best feature, allowing us to bathe as many times as we wanted without seeing anyone else. Paired with the superb Japanese kaiseki dinner, it was the perfect elegant setting for an anniversary trip.

  • Private Bath & Easy Access from Station

  • The convenience, just a 3-minute walk from Nagatoro Station, was perfect. Being able to drop off our luggage right away meant we could start sightseeing immediately. The private open-air bath in the room offered a luxurious view directly overlooking the Nagatoro Gorge mountains. It's a rare onsen ryokan where you can enjoy so much nature so close to Tokyo. Highly recommended for a stress-free getaway.

  • The most attractive feature is the open-air bath

  • This is a luxurious inn where you can enjoy the Nagatoro Valley of the Arakawa River from your room, and also enjoy the view from the open-air bath. The indoor bath uses bamboo vinegar, which has excellent antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, disinfectant, and deodorizing effects. You can also see the valley from the open-air bath, so this is an inn where you can enjoy Breathtaking view from anywhere. For meals, please enjoy the ``Japanese kaiseki kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )'' centered on seasonal ingredients, local ingredients, and seasonal mountain and river produce. The ``salt-grilled river fish'' is delicious.

  • An open-air bath overlooking the Nagatoro Valley

  • This is the perfect place to relax and unwind independent guest cottages from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The inn also offers gorgeous rooms with open-air baths where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Nagatoro Valley. As it is located right next to Nagatoro Station and the rock shelf, this inn is conveniently located for strolling around and sightseeing in the area.
