Recommended Hakone trip: Hot spring inns with views of Mt. Fuji

• We could see the trees and Lake Ashi from our room. We could see Mt. Fuji from our room, but it looked better from outside the hotel. There was no private bath, but there was a large public bath and an open-air bath, so it was nice to be able to relax in them. The food was mainly Japanese, with a kaiseki dinner and Buffet in the morning. It was also close to Owakudani, so we were able to go sightseeing there first thing in the morning.

• This is a quiet retro hotel in the mountains of Hakone. I was on the second floor facing Lake Ashi and could see Mt. Fuji. The bath was spacious, with a large bath, an open-air bath, and a mist sauna, so I was able to relax in the water. The food was also well-thought-out, and the boiled sweetfish was delicious. There was also a children's set menu.
