  • Hotel New Otani Osaka
  • [Osaka] Hotels and Ryokan (Japanese inn) with English-speaking facilities

My friend from overseas is going to Osaka for the first time. He doesn't speak Japanese, so he is looking for a hotel or Ryokan (Japanese inn) that can speak English. Please let me know your recommendations. Preferably in a place that is easy to visit.

Hotel New Otani Osaka

1-4-1 Shiromi, Chuo-ku

  • Right in front of Osaka Castle

  • This hotel is close to JR Osaka Castle Park Station, making it a great location for those interested in Japanese castles. Osaka Castle Park and the Osaka Castle Tower are within walking distance, so you can easily enjoy sightseeing. There are also plenty of facilities within the hotel, including a pool (only available in summer), beauty salon, fitness center, and a convenience store. You can enjoy both sightseeing and your stay at the hotel.

Hotel Keihan Universal Tower

6-2-45 Shimaya, Konohana-ku

  • Close to Universal Studios Japan!

  • This hotel is within walking distance of Universal Studios Japan. It is also adjacent to a shopping facility, so it is recommended for those who want to buy a lot of souvenirs. Even if you purchase bulky items, you can easily return to the hotel. It is also easy to access other tourist spots, so I personally recommend using USJ as a base.

The St. Regis Osaka

3-6-12 Honmachi, Chuo-ku

  • English, Korean and Mandarin spoken

  • As it is a Marriott hotel, the service is top-notch. The location is great, right along Midosuji. You won't have to worry about access to shopping, sightseeing, or leisure activities. Another nice point is that check-out is a little late at 12:00. The high ceilings and large windows give you a sense of openness and make you feel relaxed. The view from the windows is also great.

Osaka Hokko Marina HULL

2-13-18 Tsuneyoshi, Konohana-ku

  • A hotel with a refreshing view overlooking the sea

  • This hotel is right in front of the sea, and is a rare lodging facility that also has a glamping facility. There are various guest rooms, and it's fun to choose from twin rooms with baby seats and camper vans. The view is of course amazing, but I would also recommend trying the seafood hotpot plan to taste some seafood.

J-Hoppers Osaka Universal

Shimaya 3-10-12,Konohana-Ku

  • Very cheap and convenient hotel

  • This hotel is recommended for those who want to keep the accommodation fee as low as possible and move around lightly. They also offer flexible luggage storage, so it's convenient for backpackers. There are several types of rooms, including dormitories, singles, and twins. If you don't mind a shared bathroom, you can stay here for less than 5,000 yen.

Quintessa Hotel Osaka Bay

1-13-65 Nankokita, Suminoe-ku

  • A relaxing hotel with all rooms over 40m2

  • It is accessible from two stations: a 4-minute walk from Nakafuto Station and a 7-minute walk from Trade Center-mae Station. Located in the bay area, the hotel offers a quiet stay. A free shuttle bus is available to Universal Studios Japan and other locations, but reservations are required. The hotel uses the multilingual translation system "KOTOBAL," which supports up to 31 languages, so you can use it with confidence even in English.

Henn na Hotel Osaka Namba

2-10-16, Nishishinsaibashi, Chuo-ku

  • This hotel is Guinness-certified as the world's first hotel where robots work.

  • This is a hotel where you check in and out with a robot. The bathroom and toilet are separate, so it's easy to use and I think it's cost-effective. It's about a 5-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station and Namba Station, so it's convenient for sightseeing and has excellent access. The regular twin rooms have two single beds attached, so if you're staying alone, you can have plenty of space.

Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Minoh Kanko Hotel

1-1 Onsencho, Minoh City, Osaka Prefecture 562-0006

  • A location specialized for sightseeing to enjoy nature

  • This hotel is part of the Oedo Onsen Group and is located near Minoh Falls and Minoh Quasi-National Park. This hotel group is popular for its good value for money. Both breakfast and dinner are served with a luxurious buffet, so you can eat as much as you like of whatever you like. There are hiking trails in the area, so it's recommended to go for a walk after dinner or in your spare time. You can also get to Osaka city by train, so you have more options for sightseeing routes.
