RIHGA Royal Hotel Kyoto

1 Taimatsu-cho, Shiokoji-sagaru, HigashiHorikawa-dori, Shimogyo-ku,

  • The only restaurant in Japan

  • On the top floor of this inn, you'll find Japan's only revolving observation restaurant. Although they serve French cuisine, you can also enjoy the interior design that respects Japanese traditions, such as Karakami art. There is also a separate Japanese restaurant, but if you want to enjoy the sunset over the ancient capital, this is the place to go. The large public bath and guest rooms are also spacious, so you're sure to be able to fully refresh your body after a day of sightseeing.

Hyatt Regency Kyoto

644-2 Sanjusangendo Mawari, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto-shi

  • Close to Sanjusangendo Temple

  • If you are interested in shrines, Sanjusangendo is a recommended tourist spot. Here, you can see a row of statues of the wind gods and thunder gods, as well as Kannon statues, which are a highlight. There are many different poses of the statues' hands, each with a different meaning, so try imagining what they mean. The hotel is within walking distance of Sanjusangendo and is a modern Japanese building that is typical of Kyoto. It is also easily accessible to the airport. There are many staff members who are used to dealing with foreign tourists, so you will feel at ease.
