  • Atami Onsen Sakuraya Ryokan
  • Atami Onsen | Enjoy seasonal cuisine at this traditional inn with rustic atmosphere

I am looking for a place to stay that would please foreigners who love Japan. Specifically, I would like a rustic hot spring inn that serves dishes made with seasonal ingredients. Are there any such inns in Atami Onsen?

Atami Onsen Sakuraya Ryokan

Higashi Kaigancho 9-11

  • This long-established inn has been in business for over 70 years, and has a retro, rustic feel both inside and out!

  • There are two large baths, "Tensei-no-Yu" and "Kaisei-no-Yu". The former has an indoor bath, an open-air bath, a sauna and a cold bath. Meanwhile, the latter has an indoor Lying-down bath, an open-air bath and an open-air reclining bath. The open-air bath is quite elegant, with a cypress bath and a rock bath. Dinner is a kaiseki meal with delicious seafood and mountain produce, but the beef stew is so good that you will drink it all in one go without having time to catch your breath. Breakfast is a Japanese meal, and the Odawara-produced Kinjiro rice is so tasty that you won't be able to stop having second helpings.

  • An inn where you can enjoy fresh seafood

  • I recommend Atami Onsen, Ryokan (Japanese inn). For meals, you can enjoy fresh seasonal seafood such as spiny lobster, abalone, and crab, which is highly recommended. It is also within walking distance of Atami Station. The bath is soft and easy to get into, as the water is gentle on the skin. There is also an open-air bath and sauna, which are very relaxing.
