  • married couple and I are going to visit Hakone Shrine and Lake Ashi Onsen during Golden Week. Which hotel has the best open-air baths?

During Golden Week, married couple and I are planning to take a one-night trip to Lake Ashi Onsen in Kanagawa Prefecture. We would like to visit Hakone Shrine, one of sacred places in the Kanto region, and relax in the hot springs. Since it's the season of fresh greenery, we'd like to enjoy the open-air baths!

Washintei Hougetu

90-42 Motohakone, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun

  • There is an open-air bath where you can enjoy the view of fresh greenery.

  • How about Washintei Hogetsu? There is an open-air bath where you can enjoy the view of fresh greenery. The location is convenient as there is a shuttle from Motohakone bus stop. The bath is a simple sulfur spring, which is expected to have the effect of relieving fatigue and promoting health. The meal is a kaiseki meal of seafood and mountain delicacies, which is a feast for the eyes as well as the tongue.

  • This is a recommended inn in Hakone Lake Ashinoko Onsen that offers meals and an open-air bath.

  • This inn is built on a quiet hilltop overlooking Lake Ashi. You can enjoy the free-flowing simple sulfur spring water in the inn's long-loved open-air cypress bath "Deaizuki" and in the large bath made of blue stone. For an additional fee, you can receive beauty treatments that are great for women. As for food, you can enjoy the inn's special "modern kaiseki" cuisine, which is carefully prepared in terms of presentation and tableware.

  • The rooms were recently renovated this year and are very clean.

  • This is a luxury inn in Lake Ashi Onsen, located just east of Hakone Shrine. It is a small, long-established luxury inn, and the interior and rooms were just renovated this year and are very clean. You can spend a luxurious time in a modern room with a view of Lake Ashi below. There is also an open-air bath in the garden with natural hot spring water, and the kaiseki cuisine was beautifully presented and elaborately prepared, making it exquisite.
