  • Best Hotels Near Fushimi Inari Shrine for the New Year's Holiday

I'll be visiting Fushimi Inari Shrine for the New Year's midnight prayers. I'm looking for a hotel to check into on New Year's Eve, ideally within easy walking distance, so I can get back quickly after the visit. What are your recommendations for nearby hotels?

Urban Hotel Kyoto

4-59 Fukakusa Nishiura-Cho, Fushimi-ku

  • If you're looking for a place near Fushimi Inari, this hotel is the place for you.

  • You probably won't find a hotel closer than this one. With 24/7 access, your New Year's countdown visit to the shrine will be completely hassle-free. A quick tip: this period is extremely popular, so booking early is essential to avoid disappointment! And while you're there, after you've marveled at the thousands of iconic torii gates, be adventurous and try some truly local street food on the shrine's approach, like grilled sparrow.

Hotel Granvia Kyoto

JR Kyoto Station Karasuma Entrance Karasuma-Dori Shiokoji-Sagaru Shimogyo-Ku Kyoto

  • We recommend Hotel Granvia Kyoto.

  • For visiting Fushimi Inari Shrine, the most convenient option is to stay at Hotel Granvia Kyoto, which is directly connected to Kyoto Station, and simply take the JR Nara Line. The hotel serves as an excellent base for sightseeing anywhere in Kyoto. Furthermore, with the bustling commercial area right below the hotel, you'll have countless dining and shopping options at your doorstep.

Almont Hotel Kyoto

26-1 Nishiiwamotocho, Higashikujo, Minami-ku

  • Hotels near Kyoto Station

  • While public transportation is recommended to get to Fushimi Inari Shrine, the hotel is close enough to walk back from if you have the energy. It's located a few minutes on foot from the Hachijo West Exit of Kyoto Station. The surrounding area is largely residential, making for a very quiet environment. A key feature is the large public bath, which uses artificial hot spring water. The lobby is spacious and convenient for meeting people. The breakfast buffet was mainly Western-style, but true to its location, it also offered a selection of 'obanzai' (traditional Kyoto-style home-cooked dishes).

Sakura Terrace -Adult Only-

1-1 Karasuma-cho Higashi-kujo Minami-ku,

  • Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine is about 2km away.

  • This hotel offers excellent value, allowing you to stay for multiple nights for the price of a single night at other hotels of similar quality. It boasts a prime location: it's about 2km from Fushimi Inari Shrine, a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station, and right in front of Kujo Subway Station. With a bus stop also nearby, you can easily get to famous tourist spots like Gion, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and To-ji Temple.
