  • JR-EAST HOTEL METS KAMAKURA OFUNA
  • I want to go to Kamakura and see the national treasure, the Great Buddha!

I would like to go see the Great Buddha of Kamakura at Kotoku-in Temple, which is designated as a national treasure. After sightseeing in the area, I am also thinking of going to Yuigahama Beach and other places. I plan to spend the whole day sightseeing, so I will be staying at a hotel nearby. Can you recommend any hotels or Ryokan (Japanese inn)?

JR-EAST HOTEL METS KAMAKURA OFUNA

1-2-1 Ofuna

  • Convenient and affordable access to the Great Buddha of Kamakura and Yuigahama Beach

  • Located right next to JR Ofuna Station, it is conveniently located for business trips and sightseeing in Kamakura. There are many shops in the surrounding area, and there are many buses and taxis. Amenities are available next to the front reception desk, so you can choose from there and take your own. There is a welcome drink in front of the elevator, and the coffee was delicious. Breakfast is a Japanese and Western Buffet with a reasonable number of dishes, and everything was delicious. The bed in the room was spacious, and from the window you could see the train, the mountains, and the Great Buddha.

  • Recommended as an environmental base for the Kamakura area

  • This hotel features clean, simple rooms and Simmons-made separate toilets. The beds are 140cm wide, so you can sleep comfortably. Check-in and check-out can be done by machine, so it's smooth. There is also a laundry corner where you can wash and dry your laundry. It is also easily accessible, being just a 3-minute walk from the east exit of the south ticket gate of JR Ofuna Station, so it is recommended as a base for sightseeing.

  • Convenient transportation from the hotel

  • There were both foreign and Japanese staff at reception desk. The service was friendly and the welcome coffee was delicious. The room was clean and spacious, and the bathroom was also spacious, so I was able to stay comfortably. I could see the Great Buddha from the room. It is close to Ofuna Station, but the station is large and it was my first time there so I got a little lost. However, it was convenient to travel to Kamakura by train or bus. There are many buses and cars around the station, and it is lively with many people. There are many restaurants so I had no trouble finding something to eat. There are also many pharmacies and convenience stores, so it is convenient.
