  • Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Sanjo
  • I'm interested in Shimogamo Shrine, which is famous as sacred places for matchmaking and beauty.

I am considering visiting Shimogamo Shrine, which is famous as sacred places for matchmaking and beauty. This will be my first time in Kyoto, so please let me know of any recommended hotels or Ryokan (Japanese inn) to use as a base for visiting shrines, including Shimogamo Shrine. I don't have a car, so I plan to tour by bus, taxi, or on foot.

Kyoto Brighton Hotel

Nakadachiuri,Shinmachi-dori,Kamigyo-Ku

  • Also recommended as a base for visiting shrines

  • Located almost in the center of the city, it is convenient to access other shrines and tourist spots besides Shimogamo Shrine. It may be a good idea to ask the hotel concierge for advice on sightseeing plans and transportation including Shimogamo Shrine. Even if it is your first time in Kyoto, you can enjoy visiting shrines efficiently and with peace of mind.

Hotel Gran Ms Kyoto

410-3 Shimomaruya-cho, Sanjo-agaru, Kawaramachi dori, Nakagyo-ku

  • One of the highlights is discovering the wonderful restaurants scattered around the area.

  • The hotel is conveniently located just a one-minute walk from Kyoto City Hall Station and a bus ride away from Shimogamo Shrine. The reason there is no restaurant on-site is that the hotel wants its guests to visit the wonderful restaurants scattered around the surrounding Kawaramachi area. It would be nice to stroll around and enjoy Kyoto's unique "Obanzai" (traditional Kyoto cuisine) and local sake.

Dhawa Yura Kyoto

84 Ohashi-cho, Sanjo-dori Ohashi Higashi-iru, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto-shi

  • Comfortable and exotic hotel

  • Although it is a historic building, the interior and guest rooms have a sophisticated atmosphere that blends Japanese and Western styles. The restaurants, bars, and spa are all exotic and offer a unique experience. It is recommended as a base for sightseeing in Kyoto, and is also perfect for a special occasion.
