I am considering visiting Shimogamo Shrine, which is famous as sacred places for matchmaking and beauty. This will be my first time in Kyoto, so please let me know of any recommended hotels or Ryokan (Japanese inn) to use as a base for visiting shrines, including Shimogamo Shrine. I don't have a car, so I plan to tour by bus, taxi, or on foot.

If it is your first time in Kyoto and you are unfamiliar with the area, we recommend a place where you can easily get around using public transportation. You can use your time effectively and visit many shrines.
