  • I want to go to Kamigamo Shrine. Can you tell me a hotel that is within an hour's travel to Kyoto?

I would like to go to Kamigamo Shrine, which is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites "Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto." I hear that it is difficult to make hotel reservations in Kyoto at the moment because there are so many tourists. I am also considering a hotel within 30 minutes to an hour's access to the center of Kyoto, so please let me know what hotels you recommend. I would prefer hotels that are easy to book and inexpensive.

  • Otsu is right next to Kyoto, and if you take the JR line, you can get to Kyoto Station in no time. It's a little independent guest cottages from the hustle and bustle of Kyoto, and you can stay here relatively reasonably. It's also conveniently located so you can stop by Lake Biwa after sightseeing in Kyoto.

  • Otsu is a hidden gem with easy access to downtown Kyoto

  • Otsu is about 10 minutes from Kyoto Station by JR line, so it's a hidden gem. From Kyoto Station, it's about 40 minutes by bus to Kamigamo Shrine, so it takes about an hour in total. The rooms are simple yet functional, and the price is also reasonable, which is nice.
