What hotels in Shiga are recommended? I'd love to know why!
I'm planning a trip to Japan and will be staying in Kyoto. I've heard Shiga is a great place, especially for families with children. I'm having trouble figuring out where to stay. Can you recommend a hotel in the Lake Biwa area? I'd love to hear what makes the hotel special, as well as some local insights and tips!

- Lake Biwa Otsu Prince Hotel is just two stops from Kyoto Station, about 10 minutes away, and there's a free shuttle bus from Otsu Station, making it extremely accessible. The hotel has a nursing room (diaper changing area) on the first floor, and they even lend out baby bottle sterilizer sets for free. There's a large outdoor pool shaped like Lake Biwa, and a shallow children's pool, so kids will have a blast playing there. The restaurant buffet on the 37th floor is a staple in the evening. They have a wide selection of roast beef and Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes, and kids' favorites like hamburgers and fries, as well as soft serve ice cream that you can make yourself, which was a delight. The panoramic view from the windows is truly spectacular. If you're traveling with your family, we recommend choosing a room with a bathroom with a washing area. It was very easy to give small children a bath.
