  • Shinjuku Kuyakusho-mae Capsule Hotel
  • Which are the Best Capsule Hotels in Tokyo that are Cheap, Clean, and Safe for First-Timers?

During my trip to Tokyo, I want to experience the unique culture of a Capsule Hotel. Since this will be my first time, I am looking for a safe and very clean capsule hotel. Also, as I want to save on accommodation costs, I'm looking for hotels that offer great value for money (cheap). Please recommend the best spots in convenient sightseeing areas like Shinjuku, Shibuya, or Ueno, and share any advice on how to use capsule hotels (e.g., showers and luggage storage)!

Shinjuku Kuyakusho-mae Capsule Hotel

Toyo Building 3F 1-2-5 Kabukicho

  • Large public bath and sauna available

  • This hotel is located in the heart of Shinjuku, yet offers very reasonable accommodation. It is about a 10-minute walk from the east exit of JR Shinjuku Station, and is close to Kabukicho, making it convenient for dining and nightlife. There is also a large public bath and sauna, so you can refresh yourself after a long day of travel. Booth Netcafe & Capsule

Shinjuku-ku Kabuki-cho 1-15-5

  • A good value capsule hotel

  • It's located about a 5-minute walk from the east exit of JR Shinjuku Station. It's also close to Kabukicho, so you won't have any trouble with sightseeing or dining. There's also an internet cafe attached, so you can freely use the computers and read Japanese manga, which is a major feature not found in other capsule hotels. There are also clean shower rooms and a luggage storage service in lockable lockers.

The Millennials Shibuya

1-20-13, Jinnan

  • Highly designed and great value for money!

  • It's famous for being an "evolved capsule" that's more spacious and comfortable than a typical capsule hotel! The capsule is fully equipped with power outlets and USB ports, making it a convenient and functional space for working and charging. There's also a spacious coworking space in the common area where you can plan your trip and interact with other travelers. It's conveniently located about a 6-minute walk from Shibuya Station, making it convenient for sightseeing and dining. Even if you're new to capsule hotels, you can stay here with peace of mind, as it's clean and safety-conscious. You can leave your luggage in a dedicated locker, and although the showers are shared, the facilities are also clean!

FIRST CABIN Ichigaya

TKP Ichigaya Building, 8, Hachiman-cho, Ichigaya

  • There is a women's only area

  • Based on the concept of "first class on an airplane," it is much more spacious and has higher ceilings than typical capsule hotels, making it a great choice for first-time capsule hotel guests. It's less claustrophobic and more comfortable, so it's recommended for those new to capsule hotels. There is a women-only area, so female travelers can use it with peace of mind. It's about a 5-minute walk from Ichigaya Station, and has easy access to major locations in the city center, making it a great base for sightseeing. There are also plenty of shared spaces, such as a lounge, making it convenient for dining, drinking, and planning your trip.

Resol Poshtel Tokyo Asakusa

2-251 Nishiasakusa, Taito-ku

  • A clean capsule hotel that is convenient for sightseeing and offers excellent value for money

  • This hotel is conveniently located just a minute's walk from Asakusa Station, and is relatively easy to access from Haneda and Narita airports. The capsules are functional and designed to ensure privacy, so even first-time guests can sleep comfortably. The common areas have a spacious lounge space that can be used for eating and drinking or planning your trip. Security is also assured, as luggage can be stored in dedicated lockers that can be locked with a card key. This couldn't be a more convenient location for enjoying a stroll around Asakusa.
