Best Hotels for a Clear View of Mount Fuji from My Room?
I'm making the trip to Japan and seeing Mount Fuji is an absolute must-do for me! I'm looking for hotel recommendations that offer a really good view of Fuji-san, ideally a panoramic one, directly from the guest room. I'm not too concerned about fancy facilities or lots of amenities; the most important thing is a room where I can gaze out at Mount Fuji. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

While it's not right next to Mount Fuji, Hotel Grand Hills Shizuoka offers a surprisingly beautiful view of the mountain! It's located on the east side of Shizuoka Station. Because the rooms are on very high floors (18th floor and up), you can get a really clear view of Mt. Fuji even from the middle of Shizuoka City.A bonus is that you also get fantastic panoramic night views of Shizuoka City itself. And get this – the elevators are glass-walled, so you can even see Mount Fuji while riding the elevator! This could be a great option if you're planning to be in Shizuoka City and want the chance to see Fuji. だえっだ's answer (Posted on:2016/3/21)

Great Fuji Views from Various Floors & a Shuttle from Kawaguchiko!
- I stayed at a hotel near Lake Kawaguchiko that had great views! I was on the 4th floor of the main building, but it seemed like Mt. Fuji was visible from the lower floors too. They have various room types, so to be on the safe side, I definitely think it's best to specifically request a "room with a good Mt. Fuji view" when you book.
By the way, Mt. Fuji was also very clear from the 5th-floor observation bath (though I'm not sure if the view is the same from the women's side – worth checking!). However, it wasn't visible from the 1st-floor open-air bath.
A big plus is that it's conveniently located, about a 4-minute drive from Kawaguchiko Station, and they offer a free shuttle service right from the station, which is super helpful! (You'd need to find which hotel this is, but these are good features to look for!) ユーザー's answer (Posted on:2014/6/ 6)

Fuji Lake Hotel: Mt. Fuji Views from Rooms, Private Onsen & Dining!
- Fuji Lake Hotel is located right near Lake Kawaguchiko and is a fantastic choice for Fuji views. They offer a variety of room types, and you can specifically choose rooms with a view of Mount Fuji – definitely do this when booking!
One of the great features is that they have private, reservable onsen (hot spring baths) where you can relax while looking at Mount Fuji. Imagine that! Plus, for meals, you can enjoy a buffet-style dining experience with views of both Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko.
It's a really lovely place to stay if you want those iconic views and a comfortable experience. ユーザー's answer (Posted on:2014/6/10)

Charming Ryokan: Fuji Views from Room & Open-Air Bath, Plus Memorable Udon!
- I stayed at a wonderful Japanese-style inn (ryokan) near Lake Kawaguchiko where you could see Mount Fuji perfectly, both from the room and the open-air bath (rotenburo)!
A small detail, but the water they served at the ryokan was incredibly delicious – it really left an impression. The onsen water itself was clear, and maybe a little on the hotter side, which was nice. For meals, they served them in our room (<em>oheyashoku</em>), and the udon noodles were particularly memorable!
There are quite a few pensions, guesthouses (minshuku), and ryokans in the Lake Kawaguchiko area. But if you're specifically looking for a traditional Japanese-style place, this one was a lovely, relaxing mid-range ryokan, and I'd definitely recommend finding one like it.sironeko's answer (Posted on:2016/2/29)

A Hotel Where EVERY Room Offers a Mount Fuji View!
- I know a hotel where you can genuinely enjoy the Mount Fuji scenery from every single room! That's a huge plus.
The hotel building itself felt a little dated, but it was kept spotlessly clean, so it was very comfortable to stay in. The view of Mount Fuji from the open-air bath (rotenburo) was also fantastic.
If you're traveling with friends or family, I'd really recommend the private reservable open-air bath (kashikiri rotenburo). Soaking in an onsen with your companions while gazing at Mount Fuji – it doesn't get much better than that! とろとろ's answer (Posted on:2016/3/18)

Absolutely Stunning Fuji Views from this Lakeside Hotel Room!
- The view of Mount Fuji from my hotel room at a place on Lake Kawaguchiko was just supremely beautiful!
The hotel faces Lake Kawaguchiko directly, and if the weather is kind, you can see Mount Fuji towering beyond the lake right from your room. Sometimes, you can even see "Sakasa Fuji" – the reflection of Mount Fuji in the lake! Because of this, I honestly think its location is one of the best among all the hotels around Lake Kawaguchiko.
I had an interesting experience: I was supposed to go in February, but the hotel had to ask guests to cancel due to heavy snow. I ended up going in April. The day before I arrived, it had been raining, but the next morning it cleared up beautifully! I was able to thoroughly enjoy the views of Mount Fuji from both the onsen and my room. Even some other foreign guests I shared an elevator with were absolutely thrilled with the view! ユーザー's answer (Posted on:2014/6/ 5)

A hotel with a great view of Mt. Fuji near Mishima Station
- If you're looking for a budget-friendly option with decent Fuji views, check out Toyoko Inn Fujisan Mishima-eki. It's a business hotel located right at Mishima Station, where the Shinkansen (bullet train) stops, making it super convenient. Because it's a business hotel, the rates are quite affordable, and it's a good base for sightseeing in the Mishima area.
For the best chance of seeing Mount Fuji, make sure to request a north-facing room. From these rooms, you can apparently see Mt. Fuji rising behind Mount Ashitaka. A nice perk is the free buffet breakfast that's included, which is always handy! しげたもん's answer (Posted on:2016/3/20)
