  • I'm going to Kairakuen, one of Japan's three most famous gardens, and I want to stay at Ryokan (Japanese inn) where I can eat monkfish hotpot!

My wife and I are planning to travel to Kairakuen, one of the three most famous gardens in Japan. Can you recommend Ryokan (Japanese inn) that is easily accessible from there and where we can eat the famous monkfish hotpot?

Ryokan Sakanaya Honten

715 Isohama-cho, Oarai-machi, Higashi Ibaragi, Ibaragi

  • This is an inn where you can enjoy delicious monkfish hotpot.

  • From now through the winter, you can enjoy delicious monkfish here. It's nice to be able to enjoy it with a miso flavor. The rooms are of a normal design, but they are well-cleaned, so you can stay there without worry. The next morning breakfast is also delicious and plentiful, so it gives you energy.

KAMENOI HOTEL OARAI

7986-2 Isohamacho, Oaraimachi, Higashiibarakigun

  • The view and the monkfish hotpot are recommended.

  • It's a short drive from Mito, and if you take the train to Oarai Station, there is also a shuttle bus. It's on a bit of a hill, so the view of the river flowing into the sea is very beautiful. You can see it well from the hot springs, which have a good view. Of course, the monkfish hotpot is also delicious. Since it's a "Kanpo no Yado", the price is reasonable and I was satisfied.
