1-2-20 Sumiyoshi, Hakata-ku

  • This hotel has four-bed rooms for four people.

  • If you are going to Canal City, I recommend the Washington Hotel inside Canal City. I stayed there while I was in Canal City, and there was a restaurant so I didn't have any trouble finding something to eat, and souvenirs were available at the shops inside Canal City, so I bought a lot of things like Fukuoka strawberry "Amaou" sweets and Hakata specialty "Torimon". If you are going on a family trip, there are also quadruple rooms with four beds. It is rare to find a business hotel with a bedroom that can accommodate four people. There are many buses to Canal City, so I recommend it. By the way, I had "morning ramen" at Ramen Stadium inside Canal. You can eat ramen from a famous Fukuoka restaurant in the morning!

2-18-25 Hakata Eki-Mae

  • Convenient hotel directly connected to Hakata Station via an underground passage

Hakataku Gionmachi 6-30

  • Close to the canal, the bunk bed rooms can accommodate up to 6 people!

  • There are two Croom Hotels in Hakata, but be careful as this is the one in "Hakata Gion". This hotel is on the opposite side of the station from the canal, and is very close to the canal. Recommended for families with children, there are rooms with bunk beds, and you can choose between a 4-person room or a 6-person room. The bunk beds are spacious, and your children will be delighted. There is also a large public bath, although it is not a hot spring, and they will give you free ice cream after you bathe. There is a cafe space on the first floor, where you can enjoy snack vending machines, draft beer, and Fukuoka wine.

1-2-1 Tenjin, Chuo-ku

  • A hotel that is one stop away from Canal and two stops away from Hakata Station

  • If you want to stay cheaply, I recommend the Comfort Inn Fukuoka Tenjin Hotel, located right next to Tenjin Minami Station. There are triple rooms with three beds. It's only one stop away from Canal City, and it takes about 15 minutes on foot. You can also walk to Nakasu, famous for its food stalls, and to Tenjin, Fukuoka's most popular shopping district, so you can spend your time having local Fukuoka food and drinking local sake for dinner. Hakata's specialty tonkotsu ramen is delicious at any restaurant in Fukuoka, even if it's not a famous one.

2-8-15 Hakata Ekimae, Hakata-ku

  • Recommended mid-range hotels for a family of three

  • I would like to recommend Mitsui Garden Hotel Fukuoka Gion Hotel. It has some triple rooms with three beds, and it is a short walk from Canal City. There is a large public bath and steam sauna, which guests can use for free. It is a modern and stylish hotel, but there are some Japanese-style decorations here and there, and Hakata-ori (woven fabrics) that were presented to the shogun by the feudal lord during the Edo period are displayed in the hotel and rooms. There is a convenience store nearby, it is less than a 10-minute walk from Hakata Station, and it is a short walk from the nearest Kushida Jinja-mae Station, and the security is good, so it is a recommended hotel.
