A modern Japanese city resort hotel near Takayama Station
I recommend "Hida Hanazato no Yu Takayama Ouan." It's easily accessible, just a two-minute walk from JR Takayama Station. The guest rooms are very Japanese-modern and stylish, and are very comfortable. There is an observation bath on the rooftop that offers a panoramic view of the city, which will leave you feeling refreshed. There are also three private baths with different themes. You can enjoy a relaxing bath while admiring the view in a private space.

A hot spring inn close to Takayama Station, a good base for sightseeing
You can eat Hida beef at most lodgings in Hida Takayama. One of the most recommended is Hida Hanazato no Yu Takayama Ouan. Located just a 5-minute walk from JR Takayama Station, it offers fresh Hida beef and Hida Takayama local cuisine. There is also an open-air bath and a private bath on the top floor (13th floor) of the hotel, where you can enjoy the view of Takayama city and the Northern Alps.

On the top floor, there is an open-air bath with a view of the stars, and the three hot springs that can be reserved for private use also have a wonderful view. You may have a hard time deciding what to order, as there are meals using the hotel's proud hoba miso and Hida beef Shabu Shabu（Japanese hotpot）on the menu. The breakfast Buffet is also carefully selected from delicious ingredients from Hida Takayama. The rooms have low beds with tatami mats so you can relax and unwind.
