Yakushima Iwasaki Hotel

Two years ago, I stayed at the Iwasaki Hotel and JR Yakushima Hotel with three friends for two nights each. Both were beautiful and highly recommended. At the time, the restaurant at the Iwasaki Hotel had a tasting set of three different types of wine and shochu, which we enjoyed. I'm not sure if they still have them, but please feel free to inquire. They have a shochu with the scent of Yakusugi, which I feel is unique to the island and highly recommend.

I went to Yakushima 10 years ago. It is the largest hotel in Yakushima and has a 33,000m2 garden. When you enter the hotel, you are greeted by a huge Yakusugi tree that reaches up to the second floor. I don't know if it's still there, but when I went to Yakusugi Land by bus, I was surprised that the guests of Iwasaki Hotel were allowed to board even when it wasn't a bus stop, and when we came across a deer in the mountains on the way, the bus stopped and we had time to take photos. It was a wonderful trip.

This is a resort hotel in the Iwasaki Group, with an open lobby where a huge replica of a Yakusugi tree awaits you. reception desk staff were very friendly, and the food was delicious, using ingredients unique to Yakushima. The rooms are basically Western-style, and the beds were spacious and comfortable. There is also an open-air bath with sulfur spring water and a sauna. Above all, the location is fantastic.

This is a resort hotel where you can see Mt. Mochomu. The mountain is visible from the restaurant, and the scenery is very nice. There is a large hot spring bath, and the mountain can be seen beautifully from the open-air bath. There are many hotels on the island, but this is the best one. Iwasaki Hotel is the best resort hotel on Yakushima.

Mochomu up close and the view is outstanding. You can take a walk along the promenade early in the morning or take a dip in the hot springs (open from 6am).

You can see the majestic mountains of Yakushima from the lobby, guest rooms, and hot spring facilities. There are many walking spots on the hotel grounds, such as waterfalls and forest bathing, so you can enjoy it all day long.

I made a reservation in advance and rented a car at the airport for a 3-night, 4-day trip to this Iwasaki Hotel. There is an open-air bath made of Yakusugi cedar, so you can relax your tired body after visiting Jomon Sugi. You can fully enjoy the majestic mountain view from both the room and the restaurant.
