You can enjoy Beppu's hot springs in the large hot spring bath with sauna. There are three restaurants for meals: a restaurant serving Beppu local cuisine, a buffet, and an Italian bar, so you can choose the meal you like. It's also nice to enjoy a meal at a restaurant around the station. Recently, there have been many foreign visitors to Beppu Onsen, so most restaurants will speak simple English, so I think you'll be fine.
