What's great about Hotel Patio Dogo is that you can soothe the weariness from your Shikoku Pilgrimage in the waters of Dogo Onsen, known as Japan's oldest hot spring. The hotel has its own large, communal hot spring bath, so you can enjoy the renowned waters without even stepping outside. Of course, the famous Dogo Onsen Main Building is also just a short walk away. The best part is that the hotel is within walking distance from Ishite-ji (Temple 51), so soaking in the onsen right after your temple visit is an incredible experience.

Affordable hotel with excellent access
This hotel is located right in front of the Dogo onsen(hot spring) Main Building and offers excellent access. It is also directly connected to the Haikara Dori shopping street, making it easy to go sightseeing, eat, and find souvenirs. Not only is it convenient for a day trip to onsen(hot spring), but it's also popular to stroll around the shopping street and sample sweets made with the local specialty mandarin oranges.

You can enjoy a soak in the hot springs while you are on the pilgrimage.
I stayed here after visiting Konpira-san. I highly recommend staying here if you are on a pilgrimage. The hotel is close to the main building of Dogo Onsen, so you can soak in the hot springs there to relieve your fatigue. The hotel is spacious and well-equipped. It includes a delicious Japanese breakfast and is recommended as it can be stayed for as little as 8,000 yen.

Enjoy Doraku Onsen and Isaniwa Shrine
Located in Doraku, Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, Isaniwa Shrine is said to grant wishes, good relationships, and safety in the home. I recommend visiting Doraku Onsen while touring sacred places. This hotel is very close, less than a 5-minute walk from Isaniwa Shrine, and is next to Dogo Onsen, so you can take the first bath in the morning. I lined up first to enter the bath to the sound of the drums, and was able to relax and soak alone. The hotel was also very nice and clean.
