I recommend Hakuunro Ryokan (Japanese inn). It is conveniently located just a 2-minute walk from Yudanaka Station. This traditional hot spring inn has a retro atmosphere that is refreshing in this day and age, and I think it will be a valuable experience. The baths are free-flowing and can be used 24 hours a day. As it is a simple hot spring, the water is gentle on the skin. Meals can be served in your room, allowing you to enjoy the flavors of Shinshu.
