If you want a leisurely boat trip, there are ferries and jetfoils from Hakata Port to Izuhara (via Iki, operated by Kyushu Yusen). It is cheaper to buy a round-trip ticket than by plane.

It is an affiliate of the company I used to work for, and is known for its seafood dishes.
- This hotel was built by extensively renovating an old national guesthouse. After the renovation, the rooms became larger and more resort-style. The food is mainly seafood, and the squid dishes in particular are excellent. The prices are reasonable, and most of the staff are locals, so they are happy to answer any questions you may have about sightseeing. This is one of the hotels where I feel comfortable staying.
