• If you're in Hokkaido, why not venture to Eastern Hokkaido? You'll have to transfer from Haneda, but there are direct flights from Haneda to Monbetsu. You can experience Hokkaido without the tourist attractions. The hotel rates were cheap, about 7,000 to 8,000 yen for one night with two meals. The bath was small, with an open-air bath and an indoor bath, but it was very relaxing.
