Hotel Seira Shimanto

Hotel Seira Shimanto is a small hotel with 14 rooms built on a hill overlooking the main stream of the Shimanto River. It is in a great location, and you can enjoy the majestic flow of the Shimanto River from the rooms. The hotel has a large stone bath (with sauna), from which you can also see the clear waters of the Shimanto River. Dinner is kaiseki（a traditional Japanese multiple course meal ）made with ingredients from Shimanto, and you can enjoy natural sweetfish, natural eel, crayfish, gori, blue seaweed, tsugani, Shimanto beef, and more. There are many places to play in the river near this hotel, such as Iwama Submerged Bridge and Chosei Submerged Bridge, and it is a 3-minute walk to Shimanto Astronomical Observatory and a 5-minute walk to the Canoe Hall. You can participate in stargazing events at Shimanto Astronomical Observatory, and enjoy a canoeing experience at the Canoe Hall. Even beginners can enjoy it.

I recommend "Hotel Seira Shimanto". I stayed there on a solo trip in autumn. I stayed in a twin room with a view of the Shimanto River. I was able to enjoy the ever-changing Shimanto River at dusk from my room. There is no open-air bath, but there is a large public bath where you can relax.
