- Although you cannot observe Yumomi (A technique in which a board approximately 180cm long is placed in the hot spring to stir the water and lower the temperature until it is ready to bathe.) spring massage, this is one of the most luxurious and long-established inns in Awara Onsen. The baths are wonderful, and the large hot spring bath "Taiyoden" that embraces the corridor garden is an amazing retractable dome type. The dome opens according to the season and time of day, blending with the light, breeze, and seasonal changes, allowing you to experience the true essence of Awara Onsen, a famous hot spring resort. The food, service, and atmosphere are all of high quality.ササラ's answer (Posted on:2020/6/27)

Relax in the Japanese garden and open-air bath
- If you want to see Yumomi (A technique in which a board approximately 180cm long is placed in the hot spring to stir the water and lower the temperature until it is ready to bathe.), Kusatsu Onsen or Nasu Onsen would be good choices. If you are staying at Awara Onsen, I recommend "Mimatsu." It is a nice Ryokan (Japanese inn) with a beautiful Japanese garden. There is also a very large garden bath with a retractable dome so you can enjoy the hot springs to the fullest. Many rooms have an open-air bath with free-flowing water, which is highly recommended. One of the specialties of Awara Onsen is a Japanese sweet called "Donrin." You can find it at a Japanese sweets shop a 15-minute walk from the inn. It has a reputation for being quite delicious.Behind The Line's answer (Posted on:2020/1/24)
