  • Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Sanjo
  • I want to experience Zen meditation at Nanzenji Temple. I want to know about recommended accommodations in the area.

I'm planning to go to the popular Nanzenji Temple with a friend to experience Zen meditation to improve my physical and mental health. I'd also like to do sightseeing in Kyoto city, so I'd like to know about recommended accommodations in the area.

Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Sanjo

80 Mikura-cho, Nakagyou-ku

  • You can get to the nearest station to Nanzenji without changing trains.

  • It is conveniently located just a short walk from the subway "Karasuma Oike Station", and you can easily get to the nearest station to Nanzenji Temple, "Keage Station" on the Tozai subway line, with no transfers or just one transfer. The Japanese modern and calming rooms are comfortable enough for anyone to stay, and the spacious, cave-like baths are perfect for relaxing after your zazen experience.

APA Hotel Kyoto-Gion Excellent

555 Minamigawa, Gionmachi, Higashiyama-ku

  • A hotel convenient for sightseeing near Nanzenji Temple

  • Facing the main street of Gion, Yasaka Shrine is just a short walk away. Nanzenji Temple can also be reached smoothly by bus or taxi. After your zazen experience, this is a great location for strolling around the atmospheric Gion and Higashiyama areas. The rooms are compact and well-equipped, as is typical of APA Hotels, and the king-sized bedrooms are equipped with mini-kitchens, which are rare for APA hotels.

Kyoto Nanzenji Ryokan Yachiyo

34 Nanzenji Fukuji-cho Sakyo-ku

  • This is an inn located in a beautiful landscape.

  • How about this one on the approach to Nanzenji Temple? It is a wonderful inn with a Japanese atmosphere built in a beautiful garden. Rooms with open-air bath are calm and quiet. You can be healed to your heart's content by the view from the guest room and open-air bath. Meals are Kyoto cuisine that the chef prepares one dish at a time with all his heart. It is a feast to enjoy with the eyes and savor with the tongue. The dishes and presentation are beautiful, and you will feel the wonderfulness of Japan again. The next day, it is close to the station, easy to sightseeing, and I think it is good to experience various things in Kyoto.
